1.
If people still wish to imply that TC amps only put out 200 watts, I'll continue to relate my experience of them, that they are easily the equivalent of 500 and 750 watt amps. The yawn is because the continued misinformation from a few people is getting very boring.
Aside from the fact I think you're missing the point, I disagree with you. So it's not misinformation - it's an opinion.
 2.
Hard facts? Several TC amps generate their volume from 236 watt power modules but, due to how they process the signal, their final "watts" rating is easily an equivalent to other amps in that class. Yawn. Whether you like the tone or not is the issue with TC amps not their volume.
The facts re: output are there in black and white. Whether or not you feel they sound louder is a different point. No need to be condescending.
 3.
I disagree with pretty much all of this post.
The first three are pretty much rooted in hard fact...
 4. Yup - neither of the TC heads are going to give you much wallop into 12ohm.
 5. Great stuff. Ibanez were fools to stop making them.
 6.
Just got mine today, I 'll try it more thoroughly tomorrow. The low end is incredible, it is really dynamic, and powerfull!
Yep... it's amazing what a real transformer can feel like! Switching amps just can't get near it.
My only concern is with the fan which is a way too loud! I'll tell you if i can drive it.
Out of interest, how loud? I've heard this a few times about the WA but mine is no louder than my (old and huffy) laptop. It's a non-issue at gigs, and just 'background' at plunking-in-the-living-room volume. I wonder if I just got lucky?
 7. You're very welcome - I hope it helps.
 8. A pair of 12's - or a single 2x12 - easily does the job for me. Just get something that can handle it.
 9. Welcome from someone from just doon the road!
 10. My '63 is on its way to its new owner. It had 'it' in shedloads, and I'm a fool for selling it. I'll see what's around, and if nothing rings my bell, an order will be going in for a Limelight P...
 11.
Nice version. The Walkabout sits in the mix very well, despite the attempts of those overenthusiastic guitars and drums.
Cheers. To be fair, it's unbalanced - there's no backline for the guitars. They're all direct and the camera mic was directly in front of the PA. The bass is pretty much backline-only so it makes much more sense out in the room. Here's a clip I've quickly made: https://soundcloud.com/wateroftyne/grindy-mesa-walkabout It's not as sparkly as the tone you posted earlier but bear in mind:

My strings are ancient
My recording set-up beyond basic (DI into Adobe Audition through a cheap Pre)
I don't usually play with a pick
I'm not by any means a connoisseur of grind
Hope it helps...
 12. Oh, and that's not a pick - it's just my fingernail.
 13.
Something like this maybe .... https://soundcloud.c...paw-black-sheep
OK - I'll try and have a look today. Here's me & my Walkabout playing that tune, albeit not so grindy... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Th8rvu2X3S0
 14.
I think a lot of people are well and truly living in the past, as is quite often the case on this site.
It's easy to dismiss it as nostalgia, but it's just a taste thing. Some people like mixes that are dynamic and have space. Some don't.
 15. What kind of grind are you after? Post up a clip or two and if I have time I'll try and put something together...
 16. You've said your bit, and it's a reasonable request, so.. just let the thread roll.
 17.
I have read so much good stuff about the Mesa Walkabout. However, having never had access to one myself, it's difficult to get an idea of what it can do. All the videos etc that I've been able to access online have been appalling in sound quality. Can anyone link to anything online that shows what the Walkabout can really do. I'm especially interested in the quality of it's overdrive. Cheers.
Ha ha... Some of the 'appalling' ones would have been mine, so I'll bow out at this point :-D
 18. I think that shot of Freddie at the piano with JD standing behind him, stripped P in hand, in the Bohemian Rhapsody video probably places it into 'iconic' territory.
 19.
The cloth is glued on a metal grille, so it is strong AND good looking...
Interestingly, pre-TKS, was in discussions with a well-known UK-based cab builder a little while ago about putting cloth over a grille. He old me this couldn't be done effectively - it was strictly a choice between one or the other.
 20. These have been around for ages.
 21. The promoters are going to love it when they book you based on your FB likes, and no-one shows up at the gig.
 22. Any ol' Precision. Cabs with no tweeters. Bump the mids. Done.
 23. Just out of interest... What are you hoping to achieve by getting likes from people just for the sake of it? (genuine question - not sarcasm!)
