1. Hey gang I'm selling my Limelight '63 Jazz medium relic. Here's the NBD thread. I love this bass so much I'm going to order a Limelight Precision (unless an interesting P trade offer comes up!) but I need funds to do so, hence the sale. It was built in December 2012, and I'm the second owner. It's the perfect weight and balance, IMO - probaby around 8.5lbs. It has a Precision profile neck, which almost exactly mirrors my treasured '71 Precision. For some reason the previous owner removed the marker-pen Limelight signature from the back (Mark has confirmed it's #001100) - which is a shame - and, bizarrely - the 'offset body' logo from the headstock. Dunno why. It sounds incredible - the pickups are so punchy. The neck pickup is massive. I've got a load of soundclips, so I'll post what I can. I don't want to post at the moment, what with it being nearly Christmas and that. Collection from Whitley Bay-ish, or I could meet somewhere not too far. Price includes covers and original Hiscox case.

3. One of my favourites... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=waIhJDgC5dQ
4. I don't really have much of an option of the Moody Blues one way or the other, but I've always fancied one of these...
5. The OP is 100% correct. I use a black cable for my bass. Mrs. WoT uses a bright orange cable for her violin. At gigs, the violin has consistently clearer highs than the bass.
6. I'm filing these under 'Variax' for the time being. Time will tell...
7.
I imagine most of the payments would be cash in hand (which would only look worse if questioned)
Tax avoidance, too? Yep, it'll look worse :-)
8. ...also, my experience of touring the U.S. Is at least 10 years out of date, but work visas were a lot of money then. Dunno how much they are now...
9. Don't do it on a visitor visa. Really - don't.
10.
There is at least one YouTube video drawing attention to certain similarities between several Led Zep songs and somewhat earlier songs.
Somewhat earlier songs that were nicked from somewhat earlier songs. And so on..
11. ...although from the look of Jenny_Innie's avatar, it's bothering her too.
12.
Aaarrgghhh.... no! Then the badges would be the wrong way round Thought I'd mention it before WoT did...
I had resisted the urge to comment...
13. Commodore 64 every time. Spectrums are rubbish.
14. I've ditched tweeters and Neo, but I haven't given up 'lightweight', unless we're talking about tone, which is heavyweight :-)
15. I've been listening a lot to the Dark Side of the Moon live recording that comes with the Immersion edition. It's beautifully recorded and mixed. Roger's P sounds fantastic, and it brings home what a great player he really is. It's a masterclass in economy and it he shifts things along wonderfully. Rog can't play? Dave overdubbed all his parts? Nah.
16. Cuh.. yet more southerners, coming on here and stealing our Basschat. Welcome aboard, bonny lad!
17. I wouldn't entertain being in a band with a bad drummer. I'd hate every second.
18. I used to have #0221, and I loved it! What's the weight?
19.
arent engineers just trying to recreate the mush on the record. To me the bass in most modern recordings is just that...mush. Oh for the clarity of recordings from the late 70's, early eighties...
This.
20. Hey gang I've got a lot of time for Sean Hurley - he's a session guy currently touring with John Mayer. He's such a tasteful player, and a great advocate of the Precision. Here's an interesting video rundown of his studio setup... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=byFsdHYoa-s
