1. Here's your answer...
2. 600 quid? Is that all? Have you taken leave of your senses?
3. I've used the tweeterless 1126 and the old-style (i.e. larger) H115. Both were great, but the H115 resonated with me more because I'm old-school. However, I know the Streamliner doesn't scrimp on the lows... that makes me wonder if the 1126 might be a better match. That's just a hunch, mind. Plus, I have no experience of the revised H115.
4.
I like midrange, and a solid bottom end but with definition:
In that case, IMO you'll love a pair of S112s.
5.
Arguably it might be a bad setup or indeed my taste but I think there's more to it than that.
I doubt you'll find an off-the-shelf Status with a bad setup. Whereas you'll be lucky to find an off-the-shelf Fender with *any* sort of setup. This doesn't help their reputation one jot.
6. Yup - WA + TKS 12's = heaven. It really is.
7.
I would like to buy an amp that has been built with care & pride & not by a company who main concirn is profit because it shows . In my opinion .
Alternatively, the latter could be building it to a price point that's within reach of more people.
8.
And now on its way to me
Excellent... I LOVE the 115. This can only be another flavour of that goodness.
9. I like the club thing. It's not a badge-waving exercise... it's nice to know where there's a concentration of people who can answer your question or share their experience about a certain piece of gear, especially if it's not mainstream.
10. Eeeeh.. I've been on since 2002. That surprised me. It gets a bad rap on BC, but I like it. It has a huge user base so the number of idiots increases, too. There's a lot of specialist knowledge on there, but TBH I prefer BC as a community. For me, TB is for discussing stuff that's happening over there before it gets over here, really.
11.
So this little number came today...
Yum.
12.
That's all fine, but aren't "pub" gigs where gear is all thrown into a trailer or van? More chance of heavy things then falling on the cab, not the other way around. I'm sure a lightweight cab would bounce of a bass bin but would a bass bin just bounce of a lightweight cab?
Of course it'll vary, but I'd have thought pub gig would mean there's more chance of the gear being carefully put in the boot of a car with covers on it. Stuff going in the van or a trailer is more of a touring band thing, surely..?
13.
Probably the funky people will like this (?). (this cd: 71 minutes of great music!!).
He sounds like he's in a bit of a hurry to get to the end of the track. I'm glad the drummer's bang-on to keep him right.
14. You could always get a couple of TKS 212s and fasten lead weights to 'em.
15.
If I get peaks and troughs when I'm playing it's because I want them there.
^^^^^ this.
16. Here's some pics. Sorry they're not very good - I didn't have a decent camera with me.
17.
Thanks, I would love to try the 1126, it sounds ideal for my needs and 2 should cover me for all venues. They are considerably more expensive than the S112, but I need clean, deep bass at volume. It's a shame Bassgear is so far away, maybe Tommy will find someone further north to also stock some demos - Eg. http://greatbritishbasslounge.com/ (hint hint) .
Yep - I'm pretty sure two would give you all the clean bass you need!
18.
Thanks for the reviews - TKS seem to be the new benchmark for 12" cabs I would like to know how the 1126 compares to the S112, particularly in it's deep bass performance. I'm considering a pair for my dub reggae band and I don't need any treble or upper mids.
I've spent a bit of time with both.... this is all in IMO / IME: The 1126 feels like a compact one-cab solution. It's a bit bigger than the S112, and will certainly go louder than a single S112. It's 'wider' sounding than the S112 - inherently bigger lows and more highs. That's not to say it's mid-scooped, mind.
19. Bit of a report here... http://basschat.co.uk/topic/248837-cn112-v-sl112-v-s112
20. Glad these cabs are getting the recognition they deserve :-)
21. Rick Rosas, a regular member of Neil Young's band amongst others, has died :-( A great but low-key player, as a regular Lakland user, he has a signature edition in Dan Lakin's new range. RIP Rick. http://neilyoungnews.thrasherswheat.org/2014/11/rick-rosas-1949-2014.html
