1.
I imagine most of the payments would be cash in hand (which would only look worse if questioned)
Tax avoidance, too? Yep, it'll look worse :-)
2. ...also, my experience of touring the U.S. Is at least 10 years out of date, but work visas were a lot of money then. Dunno how much they are now...
3. Don't do it on a visitor visa. Really - don't.

5.
There is at least one YouTube video drawing attention to certain similarities between several Led Zep songs and somewhat earlier songs.
Somewhat earlier songs that were nicked from somewhat earlier songs. And so on..
6. I'm not a fan of it.
7. ...although from the look of Jenny_Innie's avatar, it's bothering her too.
8.
Aaarrgghhh.... no! Then the badges would be the wrong way round Thought I'd mention it before WoT did...
I had resisted the urge to comment...
9. Commodore 64 every time. Spectrums are rubbish.
10. I've ditched tweeters and Neo, but I haven't given up 'lightweight', unless we're talking about tone, which is heavyweight :-)
11. I've been listening a lot to the Dark Side of the Moon live recording that comes with the Immersion edition. It's beautifully recorded and mixed. Roger's P sounds fantastic, and it brings home what a great player he really is. It's a masterclass in economy and it he shifts things along wonderfully. Rog can't play? Dave overdubbed all his parts? Nah.
12. Wow.. that's VERY nice.
13. Cuh.. yet more southerners, coming on here and stealing our Basschat. Welcome aboard, bonny lad!
14. I wouldn't entertain being in a band with a bad drummer. I'd hate every second.
15. I used to have #0221, and I loved it! What's the weight?
16.
arent engineers just trying to recreate the mush on the record. To me the bass in most modern recordings is just that...mush. Oh for the clarity of recordings from the late 70's, early eighties...
This.
17. Hey gang I've got a lot of time for Sean Hurley - he's a session guy currently touring with John Mayer. He's such a tasteful player, and a great advocate of the Precision. Here's an interesting video rundown of his studio setup... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=byFsdHYoa-s
18. Fantastic... that looks stunning. Maybe I should have been a bit bolder with the colour of the S112 I have coming, but.. the black'n' silver is classic. Covers look great, too.
19.
Are you playing this fingerstyle? If so then let your plucking finger come to rest on the E string after you strike the A at the 7th.
That's what I'd do (I had to pick up my bass to fin that out, mind) - nowt to it, really.
20. I used to quite like them back in the day ('Nothingness' is fab). The only thing stopping me getting in to them more was Vernon Reid - he plays like an excitable (but admittedly talented) 12-year-old.
21.
I made the change to flatwound strings a few months ago and thought for a first try I'd start with a moderately priced set, so went for the d'addario chromed. I instantly loved the flats and wondered how I'd gone 23 years and never tried them??? I'd always used rounds and changed them quite regular too. So, I'm going in the studio next weekend and thought I try and get a new set played in this week, thought I'd give the more premium brand Labella a go to as they seem to have great reviews all round. So I'm struggling to find what I want.... Gauge wise, I've been using .045-100 and they feel nice, closest labella set i can see is .043-104.... I think I can live with the different string size but the only ones that size I can find say they are not suitable for through boy stringing ?????? Why is that? And can anyone point me to the best place to find what I'm looking for? I'd be happy enough to just go with the diaddrios again but I wanted to try the labellas . Thanks, and sorry for another string thread
A couple of things... Why so keen to use a new set for recording? They get better as they get older... Also, I don't think you'll find many flats that are suitable for thru-body stringing. They just don't like the break angle as they're pulled across to the bridge. The 43 gauge is pretty much comparable to 45 in rounds, IME. There's more body to the string which makes up for the slightly lighter gauge.
22. Loads of people I play with have eventually gravitated to one or other of the Baggsseses. Quite right, too. They're rich, clear, and don't quack. I've heard them through small PAs in pubs, and 2000 seater halls, and they do the job every time. All IMO, of course.
23.
Sometimes it's just about the way something feels and the pleasure it gives you.
There's a comment clamouring to be made here, given the subject of the post above. ...but I'm not going to make it.
24.
I'm just wondering why TKS has it's own sub forum and everyone else is relegated to the affiliates. Barefaced never got that honour and bass builders that everyone rates on here don't get that privilege. Just asking.
They get that privilege if they pay for it :-)
