  1. Yep - mine had the same problem. Power dropped, started to distort. It was something to do with the jack socket - firmly jiggling the jack in the socket caused it to come back to life. Eventually I unscrewed the socket, reseated it and tightened it up and it's been OK since.

'Focussed' is a good word. I don't have any experience of the Berg CN's, but compared to my HS210s and HT112ERs - that I really liked - the S112s and S212 sit in the mix far more naturally for my taste. It feels like I can get a really tactile response from from the cabs at a much lower volume than the wider-sounding Bergs. I think the videos I posted above show how subtle (and not so subtle) changes in attack really shine through, and that big, reassuring bottom end is just... 'there'.

[/quote] Well...there's a place for tweeters, and they're really a part of some people's sound, but personally speaking I don't miss them one jot. Even on all the Berg cabs I've owned, I just found them clacky. And when I rolled the tweeters back, I always felt I was left with lows and no clarity. The TKS's have upper mids which seem to let the character of the bass bloom, without any fizz. If you need more, pushing the upper mids and highs on the amp gives you more clarity, with all the brittle unpleasantness rolled off in a really natural way. It's a godsend for flats, 'cos it leaves that 'woodiness' intact, and with rounds I can get a growl which sits perfectly in the mix without any harshness.   20. Stunning... welcome to the club! The mids and highs on these things are a joy to behold. Running one on its own sounds fantastic, but running the two of them is like an exponential increase in awesomeness.

But the types of gig we're referring to in our little tangent is the likes of theatre and cruise ships, where the ability to read is pretty much expected for the reasons skej21 just mentioned. If you're a busker / ear-learner, you're probably not going to fit.
