And I've played a couple of stinkers. Certainly nothing that's grabbed me by the lapels like my Limelight J relic did, for example.

Pair a Walkabout (assuming it hasn't been tinkered with!) with fairly sensitive cabs, and it'll cope with anything but ridiculous volumes, IME.

The mids on these are glorious, which is why I love 'em. I detest mid scoop. They're just excellent quality traditional-sounding bass cabs, with a lovely roll-off at the top, but lightweight. The Neo 1126 I had a loan of was much more 'full range studio monitor'-sounding. Not my bag at all, but loaded with a tweeter, the flat-response lovers would probably be right into it.

I would never mention The Eagles in the same sentence as the entirely dreadful Coldplay. Meisner and Schmitt wrote some great lines. I've just encountered Dakota for the first time ever with a dep I've been doing. I'd never heard it until now. The song is totally dull, so the bass part suits it (I don't have any problem playing it with fingers).

I haven't A/B'd them, but I've gigged both the Compact and the H115. (DISCLAIMER - my feedback is based on a limited run of gigs. Please bear this in mind) They're both compact and light - the Compact has the edge as it's a smaller box, but the H115 is far from a hardship. It's still a one-hand carry over short distances. I had mixed results with the Compact. At a couple of lower-volume gigs it was great. Like.. really nice, to the point where I could easily have handed my money over there and then. But at higher volumes, results varied. It seemed to lack authority. For the money, it would have to be a single-cab solution, but I just didn't feel like it was up to the task. The H115 rang my bell from the off. Every note has a supportive punch behind it that always seems to be there regardless of volume. I usually had the tweeter dialled off or thereabouts, and even with flats the notes 'speak' clearly. And it's pretty sensitive, so despite my head only putting out about 175w into 8ohm, I never felt like I was struggling. I came [i]very [/i]close to buying the H115 that JD1 now owns (in fact, I kept borrowing it from him after he bought it!), but for one reason or another I was pretty set on ordering the S212 I now own. Reluctantly, I have to mention 'the elephant in the room' - the TKS looks and feels like a high-end bass cab. It's beautiful (like all Tommy's cabs), and the construction is solid and reassuring in an Audi / BMW / Mercedes kind-of way. And that's all I'll say about that. Hope this helps...

I imagine Alex takes a lot of it on board as viable feedback - he'll want to remove any barrier to someone buying one of his cabs.

The thing is, as good as the cabs are, the design does put people off. I'm not sure how long the 'it's a fledgling company' justification can last.

I ran mine at 2ohm for ages with no problems. A MESA tech actually popped up on TB a while back to confirm it'll be fine. Also, if you have a hunt around on TB there's a thread which gives a pretty detailed explanation of the EQ. It's a bit whacky.
