I used to quite like them back in the day ('Nothingness' is fab). The only thing stopping me getting in to them more was Vernon Reid - he plays like an excitable (but admittedly talented) 12-year-old.

Thanks, and sorry for another string thread [/quote] A couple of things... Why so keen to use a new set for recording? They get better as they get older... Also, I don't think you'll find many flats that are suitable for thru-body stringing. They just don't like the break angle as they're pulled across to the bridge. The 43 gauge is pretty much comparable to 45 in rounds, IME. There's more body to the string which makes up for the slightly lighter gauge.

Loads of people I play with have eventually gravitated to one or other of the Baggsseses. Quite right, too. They're rich, clear, and don't quack. I've heard them through small PAs in pubs, and 2000 seater halls, and they do the job every time. All IMO, of course.

I've pretty much given up going to big gigs for this reason, too. The last few Rush gigs I've been to have been dreadful. These days, the purpose of bass in the FOH is basically to rearrange your internal organs. Who cares what notes are being played?

Is your drummer too loud? Maybe the guitarist is making a stand...

Well.... I started out with two 112s: But I had a need for a separate 212 and 112, so I got this: All of the above sound as good as they look. The tone... the quality... the price... none better, IMO.

Hellooooooo.... lovely. The S115 was plenty loud for me driving my Walkabout at 8ohm...
