1.
Gasp, that was some Lesson 1. Pete had problems also. Hendrix did not like them for ripping off blues songs and not giving credit. Here's Pete:
Not this tired argument again...!
 2.
I may need to pop around for a cuppa some time soon... I'm getting itchy fingers! Oh and how very dare you dep with a rock band, that's my patch you are treading on; stick to your Knopfler et al gigs!
Any time! And yep, I'm probably going to have to play 30x more notes than I normally do, at seven times the volume. I'll need a lie down at half time. :-)
 3. Well look what I got...
 4. Here's more pics. I swear these things are works of art. The build quality is ridiculously good. I have a dep gig tomorrow with a proper ROCK BAND - it'll be a good test, even though the drivers won't really have opened up yet... I can't think of a situation where I'd ever need to use this, but it's an option...
 5. Look what just arrived from TKS Engineering! Here's the specs:

Impedance: 4 Ω
Power handling (high average power test signal): 500W RMS
Recommended amplifier power: 100-600W RMS @ 4 Ω
Sensitivity[average]: 102 dB SPL @ 1 W/1 m
Sensitivity[100Hz]: 100 dB SPL @ 1 W/1 m
Sensitivity[max]: 105 dB SPL @ 2,3 kHz, 1 W/1 m
Frequency response (-10db): 42 Hz - 4,8 kHz
Displacement: 474 cm³
Measurements (WxHxD): 52x76x40 cm
Weight: 21 kg
More later...
 6. Mind you, it might not look as good once you've taken sandpaper to the end of the headstock.
 7. Apparently Bassgear have got a whole bunch of 'em in stock.
 8. For some reason (cost cutting?) Fender have started putting out block-marked necks without binding. I don't like it...
 9.
I switched to flats a couple of years ago, and on my P they were a revelation. For gigs they rocked, I found the sound I'd been looking for, a nice deep tone. But for recording they were severely lacking in the mid frequencies. I then tried half wounds and found the mids I needed, but with all the character of the flats. No more rounds on the P for me!
I often find that engineers have a default 'roundwound' approach to EQing bass at source and in the mix, which kills the magic of flats.
 10.
A fine attitude displayed there in spite of how much it must sting.
It did sting - a lot. But I've just watched it and I the mighty Dave Bronze seems to have got the gig, so it hurts a little less. :-)
 11. Out of interest, have you pulled the head out and used it with a bigger cab? Just a suggestion, 'cos mine sounded great. You might not want another head...
 12.
Citation please.
One of many from an SEO POV: https://www.highposition.com/blog/hyphenated-domains-google/ From a practical / brand perspective, heir use has been in decline for a long time now. IME.
 13. re: 'sticky' flats - you have to play through that. The fun starts when they go smooth. FWIW, you can help the process along by rubbing them with an old cotton t-shirt.
 14.
Post 14 above: "less than a grand" Nice score!
Whooah... hi-five!
 15. Awesome - the spit and double of my #1, which is also a T. Chambers neck stamp. Enjoy it.
 16. Probably not much help, but I have a Kia C'eed SW - the estate - and a Hiscox case fits easily in the cavernous boot. I LOVE that car.
 17.
Jazz does a pretty good Precision sound with neck pickup solo'd
Hmm.
 18. A golden era. The pup in my '71 died, and the late great Jim Cairnes rewound it. I asked him to do it a little hotter than stock, and it's stunning.
 19. Initial opinion - the rhythm section are a bit skittish. IMO.
 20. One or two TKS112s come in at a very reasonable weight and price.
 21.
Yeah. Nothing wrong with playing a stripped down set or whatever...but it's not acoustic is it?
You could analyse it that way but - thanks to MTV in the 1990s - it's become a handy, generally recognised term for acoustic guitars and no drums.
