1. Jeez, what an insane morning I've had! I just have to share.... I went to the works canteen this morning and bought a cup of tea - like I do every morning - and there were TWO tea bags in it. I can only think the lassie who works there picked two up by accident, instead of one.
2. Y'know, I know a YouTube clip is hardly representative of being in the room, but that's not at bad as I'd expected. It sounds like a very lively room. Maybe it's just one of 'those' rooms that hates bass? Or do you have this problem in a number of venues?
3.
Plenty of volume…. so i don't think i need a 4x10.
Yeah, you might have volume, but... Is it indistinct? Does it lack authority? If so, then it sounds like you might need more speakers.
4. It sounds like you might need more speakers....
5. Just downloaded it - ta for the heads-up!
6. Here's a little video I made yesterday of my new (to me) '71P. It was recorded with a crappy camera mic, but It's a good indication of how clearly the TKS 112 'speaks'. http://youtu.be/BEyjx9sUyYQ
7.
Sounds mega. What strings are you using? Both sets sound really nice.
Cheers! The rounds are... I dunno, actually. They came with the bass. They have coloured ball ends. D'addarios? The flats are old La Bella FLs...
8. Had a bit of time this morning, so I made a video... I've recorded and gigged her a lot over the last couple of weeks. She growls! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BEyjx9sUyYQ
9.
Am I being unreasonably paranoid?
Since you ask... yes you are.
10. Nice gig... I LOVE Uncle Tupelo. Have a blast!
11. This one has been discussed before. I am / was interested in this, but comms isn't the seller's strong point. FWIW, it looks all present and correct IMO.
12. Whoooah... hen's teeth!
13. Try these.... http://www.newmooninsurance.com/musical/index.php
14.
They are what they are. Deal with it.
No need to be so dismissive...?
15. Any excuse to post this again - my new (old) 1971... Full story here.
16. Start the ball rolling now re: remortgaging your home, and it'll be on the shelves by the time the funds come through.
17.
So... I'm asking everyone... how does the STM900 compare with an all-valve amp? Does it cut the mustard?
IMO.. no.
18. Absolutely. When I play a Jazz, I sound like me... playing a Jazz. When I play a Rick, I sound like me... playing a Rick. When I play with rounds, I sound like me... playing rounds.
19.
they seem a lot more affordable in the US, though.
Don't get me started on MESA's UK pricing. *hyperventilates*
20. Seriously - more of you should consider a used Walkabout. No fancy-pants digital 3DPM™ Power Management or Active Power Management™. No hi-pass filtering. No squeezing 900w out of a power module nearer 300w. Just old-fashioned analogue power from a lump of iron and some valves, with all the loveliness and ballsy mids that comes with it, in a reasonably-sized package. (Usual disclaimer applies - this is all IMO)
21. The official colour is LPB - it's just aged so it looks a bit like Sherwood Green.
22. It was loud, and had a big bottom end, but unfortunately - in common with my experience with other micro heads I've used, especially those that use the B&O ICEPower module - it had no 'backbone'. IMO, of course. The MESA Walkabout gives me the tube experience, coupled with the heft, in a lightweight package.
23. Great band - I'm glad Christine's with 'em again. Strangely though, on the last tour Mick had a shadow drummer sitting just out of sight behind him, doubling his parts. Very odd.
24. Give 'em a good rub down with an old cotton t-shirt.
