1. Couple of seconds on Google... http://www.youtube.com/user/wonga
2.
It's far easier to look at 1 thread containing 500 posts about XYZ, than to try and track down 500 threads. It's not rocket science.
Yup. I think some people need to lighten up and understand the word 'club' doesn't mean funny handshakes and all that.
3. Doesn't bother me - it makes perfect sense. You're interested in XYZ amp? Head off over to the XYZ owners' club and fill your boots. That's all there is to it.
4. Hey gang Here's a clip from Friday night's gig... http://youtu.be/zRZt8AeR974
5. The Fender Jazz is an iconic instrument. Which means that on a bass forum, you're going to get people who are - in varying degrees - interested in its origins and evolution. And especially when it comes to fairly controversial elements, like Herbie's bass. You're also going to get people who don't give a monkeys. And that's fine. Good on Herbie for letting someone try his bass, btw.
6.
This forum should be renamed anorak chat. I have just been reading the first couple of posts and amazed how quickly an awesome gesture by a liviing legend to a young lad just starting out on his musical journey has been reduced to a slanging match over the exact date and status of an equally legendary instrument. Btw that's the longest sentence I have ever written.
It's called 'Basschat'. Most people are here because they're into basses more than the average Joe on the street.
7. I haven't watched this yet, but I will. And Steve Ferrone is the icing on the cake. http://bcove.me/u724s45k
8.
£1599?. At that price it needs to slaughter the Class D competition.
Using a different module to the ICEpower thing virtually every other Class D uses will be a good start.
9.
Another +1 for the Thomastick flats. Bear in mind that these are one of the lowest tension flats out there. This puts a lot of people off of them. AFAIK, the Labellas are at the other end of the tension spectrum.
That'd be the Chromes. The La Bellas are sort-of medium.
10. I'm not sure they exist any more. The website was offline last time I checked...
11. The buffered J pup is pretty characteristic. I don't know how easy it is to replicate...
12. I binned tweeters a while ago when I got my TKS112s. The driver deals with the highs now, and it's a beautiful roll-off.
13.
Hmmmm not on the Autistic spectrum at all then?
Oh - and feet and handles. (but the badge is WORST OF ALL!)
14.
Vertical config... tip it on it's side you mean.
But... But.... The badge will be WONKY!!
15. The only thing that bugged me a little about the 1126 is that it's squat, like the Berg 12s and Aggie DBs, so it's firing at your calves. Not a problem with a pair (that would sound massive..!) but if it was my main single cab, I'd get one in vertical configuration.
16. Cool...thanks, Mr. Conan! I think an EQ tweak would have worked wonders on the 1126. I actually found it to be the opposite... very wide, with a big, open low end.
17.
I don't play a six string, so keep that in mind. But, I do have a pair of W2126, and I have heard most of the TKS cabs The speakers with the extra 6 for mids and highs are more full range in sound. Not everybody's cup of tea, but personally I would have gone for a 1126.
Based on what I've heard, i'd agree with this. Drop Tommy a line - he'll give you the lowdown...
18.
Please stop... Eude
Sorry :-)
19.
Midlands trial at all?
I'll suggest it to Tommy - see what the new year brings. Here's a pr0n shot from Saturday night. I swear to god... running both of these cabs together - which I don't get to do very often - is nirvana.
20. Thankfully there's a rich tradition up here of folk with electric bass. And songs. And dynamics. And middle eights. We're almost unique. :-)
21.
Shurely shum mishtake?!
Apparently not, but who knows?
22.
Forgot to say guys n gals I'm in Ashington Northumberland.(urh guys n gals...sounds like that disgusting think jimmy slavers) regards steve
Eshitten? Welcome aboard!
23. By the way, here are some pics of a Fender-endorsed '59 prototype. Presumably, Herbie's followed this... Yep - it has a Precision decal...
24. Ah, it was a general comment aimed at lots of people, Clarky. It wasn't a direct reply to you.. honest! As for your boxer shorts, if they have a skunk stripe, they're definitely 2012. :-D
25. 'Herbie Flowers says he bought it on that date, so that's all there is to it' is never going to be the start and end of the discussion. People are passionately interested in the origins of basses like this, so they / we want to talk about them and analyse them. Just like the analysis of a billion other topics across the internet every day...
