1. It looks like every new user who's registered for the last couple of days is in the same 'validating' state as I am... which suggests the email system is kaput.
2. Well this is frustrating.... I thought I'd change my email address to a different one to see if that fixes it, but my Hotmail account hasn't received the validation email. So now I'm stuck in purgatory. Is the mail server completely knacked, or is it still sending some notifications?
3.
Yes I'm getting notifications at the top of the page but no email notifications. I went for a couple of years without email notifications until I changed my email address from my personal domain to a Plusnet email address and then it all came good. I suspect that there is something weird with the email send server in that if it doesn't like the email address, such as it doesn't have the right sort of certification, then it won't send to it. Just an idea.
Might be. Everyone who is affected - who's your email provider? Mine's Gmail.
4. Arrr man. Get well soon, Mac!
5. Out out interest. is anyone reading this still receiving notifications?
6. I can't see any sloppiness in the OP - it looks like it's routed exactly like it was intended to be..?
7. Hmmm... It hasn't worked for me. I'll try again and report back...
8.
http://www.bassmute.com/bassmute/
I want one of these, but they won't reply to my emails :-(
9. Add me to the list - notifications stopped working this morning. Odd.
10. I agree entirely.
11. Howard the Bass Doc. Nun better. :-)
12. You're welcome. It's bloody lovely, by the way. Good luck with the sale.
13.
I have just been informed by a third party that SGD pickups are now insolvent, the owner refuses to admit it and no longer responds to Emails.
Oof - sorry to hear it. I think the writing has been on the wall with SGD for a couple of years now.
14.
http://cgi.ebay.co.u...em=331049624454 Hm, going on about how it hurts my neck doesn't sound like good marketing? I've got the later-style CV P and it's just dandy - or maybe I've just got a superstrong neck? -\ And aren't they nearer £300 than £400?
The seller probably has a back problem which means even 'average' weight basses cause pain and discomfort. But no - it's not good marketing. He could probably have worded it a bit better.
15. I've been thinking about this a bit more, and I suppose it's down to one's definition of 'knowing theory'. If need to write down the chords of a tune I'm playing, I could (but I generally don't have to). But mxylixololdioans and all that? I know nowt. When I'm playing a line, I'm playing it because it sounds right. Which, by happy coincidence, must also mean the theory behind it is solid.
16. Their new English website is live...
17. Just a test to make sure you're all paying attention
18.
they don't say what the actually are - I mean I guess the ones with 12 in the title are 12 inch drivers, and 15 15 inch and so on.... but I'm confused
That's the general gist of it. 112 = 1x12 115 = 1x15 212 = 2x12 1126 = 1x12+1x6.
19. Hi all For anyone interested, TKS Engineering have just relaunched the site in English, with details and specs of the new range: www.tks.se If you don't know anything about them, here's my experience. As the happy owner of a pair of 1x12's, I *really* want a 2x12.... just for the fun of it.
20.
Indeed, that was my point, which is why i said your answer was an interesting one, I've seen some of your vids and consider you to be a very natural, good bass player. And I also think if you were aware of the theory (I'm not saying you aren't btw) behind what you were playing you'd remain those things. Knowing the theory would not take anything away from you as a player... It might however enhance certain areas, and we all could use a little enhancement huh I think most instinctive musicians just forget rules and just play music when in the moment, but the theory still exists.
Thank you, Jake - you're very kind. Just to clarify - I'm not one of those people who thinks knowing theory is a bad thing...! No doubt spending time on the theory would enhance areas of my knowledge, but I honestly don't feel restricted as I am. Life being what it is you have to choose your battles, and there's other things I really need to focus my energies on at the moment. One day, maybe...
