1. Here's a clip of the 1126 referred to in the last couple of posts, featuring BC's very own Faron and Kev Bucket. It's a crappy camera mic, so it's not doing it justice at all. It sounded beautiful. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cBHHLu-o7uE
2.
i love rush covers!
I don't normally, but this is great. The link I've posted is a very short version - somewhere there's a longer version which is fab.
3. It's a good question! To look at them, you can tell no corners whatsoever have been cut in the fit and finish. They're incredibly tidy, as I'm sure everyone who saw them at the bash will attest. The standard 112 is an absolute bargain, but the driver is ceramic so it's bound to be cheaper than the neo cabs in the range. That said, the neo stuff is still extremely reasonable when you compare it to what else is out there. I've got the Neo 112 here (the black and white one) if you want to have a lend?
4. Hi all Some new TKS cabs - including the neo 112 - were given a workout at the North East Bass Bash yesterday. There's some pics starting at this post. Unfortunately we didn't have a Streamliner there, so I can't give you the lowdown on how the might pair up. Thunderpaws - if you're ever down Newcastle way, you're welcome to come and see my Ceramic 112s or the neo loan cab you can see in the pics...
5.
Fantastic! Great to see you had a good turnout and a great time. Will tweet the posts with the photos for our followers tomorrow
Thanks, Bluejay! Here's the open-access Facebook link to the pics: https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.10151880033356322.1073741842.690966321&type=1&l=8640e97db3
6.
Honest to God he asked me to twiddle his knobs!
What. Ev. Err.
7. What a GREAT day! Thanks to everyone for coming along. Great turnout, great gear, great chat. Here's a full gallery of photos... And here's a selection:
8. Track 10 on here. Click the play icon to preview (I think it should still work even if you don't have iTunes). It sounds bloody great...!
9.
Hope you took lots of photos!
On the way!
10.
That was where they started to lose me. Move from progness to song orientation. Like Genesis and Yes around this time, ended up a little less exciting for me.
They did ease back on the prog, but the quality of the songs was still there. Recently they've gone back to prog, but without the songs. IMO.
11. I think it's awesome - one of my favourites. The production is dated, but when you compare it to something current - Clockwork Angels, for example - you have to wonder if producers are born with cloth in their ears these days. Yes Signals has a bit too much reverb, and it's a bit low on guitars, but it's punchy, fat and rich, with loads of open space.
12. Swing by on the way back... Bring him along!
13. Bump for tomorrow!
14. Na. If it works, it's fine. I never need to cut 'em on Fenders... the string is always wound to the bottom.
15. Little miss WoT (7) is doing OK on the fiddle. Sometimes she wants to practice... sometimes she doesn't. She's only 7, so it's up to her.
16. Some I do for money, some I do for love. Thankfully, I do most of them for both. Rehearsing is boring. Gigging is more fun.
17. Hi everyone. Any comments & discussion on the price of any item in the marketplace should be discussed directly with the seller via PM, as per the marketplace guidelines. I've cleaned the thread up to reflect this. Thank you.
18. No - just one of each, all 8ohm... L-R: Neo 15" w/tweeter (17kg) | Neo 12"+6" (15kg) | Neo 12" (8kg!)
19. The postman didn't let us down.... toys to play with on Sunday:
20.
I'll be coming in past the Metrocentre, will that be uncongested(ish)? Oh and Martin from Overwater is coming along too. RK
Cool! Coming from the Metrocentre should be fine.
21. ..I should mention that people should bring their own lunch. Once we've demolished Matt P's brownies (and maybe something from Mrs WoT), that's your lot. There's no shops nearby....
22. Nah -
is that going to affect me, coming up from Leeds?
Nah - it's the other side of the river. You'll be fine :-)
23.
They are different. Neo allows longer excursion, not because of higher flux, but because the motor structure is more compact. Longer excursion results in higher output with less distortion. Most of us prefer that to lower output with higher distortion, but I guess not all.
That makes sense. Thanks, Bill.
24. Don't have band 'practices'. Have band 'rehearsals'. 'Practicing' is what you do at home. On your own.
25.
Thanks man, I enjoyed it
You're welcome. I'm here all week!
