1.
I kind of think it was intentional as a bit of a 'F... you Waters - look at us - we've got a proper bass player now', but it upset the balance and backfired I guess.
I dunno. As a live act, I think Floyd did OK since Roger left.
 2. I'm back with 12" cabs, too. No tweeters, either - my tweeter days are over. It was actually Bjelkeman's post on this thread that made me aware of TKS Engineering. They're absolutely lovely. Here's the full story.
 3. I seem to recall reading somewhere that he acknowledges this himself . When it was time for the Division Bell tour, Mr. Gilmour politely suggested to Mr. Pratt how he might play some things differently, or use different basses, to what he did / used on the DSOT tour. The 'Money' line springs to mind... straighter, and on a P.
 4.
I'm liking the tone. How much of that is due to the Walkabout head? Sounds lovely. Might have to see if I can find one.
It's hard to tell. There's no doubt the Walkabout has magic in it, but these cabs just seems to fit it like a glove. There's loads of treble on-tap, too - I had the tone rolled back on these clips. By the way, if any NE-based bashers want to a go, just let me know.
 5.
On the elderly.com ad it says it's no longer available so I suspect it's been sold and this seller will never be seen again!
Another possibility is that the seller has withdrawn it from Elderly and is trying to sell it privately.
 6.
Wonder how you recorded the sound, did you mic the cab up or was it just ambient sound to the camera?
It's recorded on a Zoom H2 a couple of feet from the cab. The drum track is being played on my Promethean combo off to the side. (I know nowt about mic placement, etc. Can you tell?)
 7. They should have taken the neck off instead. Clowns.
 8.
Should we start a 'Here's my Midget in a silly situation' series? Here's a start, a little charity do at a school, but outdoors, just vocals through the pa. Not a metal-loud gig but pretty punchy. Midget handled it just ticking over, plenty of capacity left. I would not expect a 1x12 to be able to sound like this. Recorded by audience member on an iphone. There will be more, let's see some more examples of Midgets in places where you'd expect something bigger. (Try with headphones or linked to some proper speakers, laptop speakers won't reproduce the bass)
Sounds great. Cool band, too. Nice one.
 9. Is it this one?
 10.
I sympathize with the whole "can't get up thing".
11. All I can think of now is this: http://youtu.be/ikHQT6mluhk?t=9s Good luck :-)
 12.
For all you country music lovers out there....
He rhymed 'Rio Grande' with 'Sure is handy'. That's beyond awesome. Love the steel on this.
 13.
Followed this thread from the beginning, what an amazing thing to have done . But I have to ask, did you drop any bollox at all ?
Nope - somehow I got away with it! Even when I was reading from my cobbled-together cheat sheet (see earlier post) it was one of those gigs where the planets aligned. The four solid days of rehearsal paid off, I think. The incredible on-stage sound helped, too.
That Joe McElderry laddy can't half belt out a tune. Great voice.
Can't he? I've done a couple of things with him now, and he's been fantastic every time. He deserves to do well.
 14.
Abba - Dancing Queen.......................seriously.....listen to it.
Dancing Queen? Lame? It's a great song! Most of ABBA's lines are awesome. Rutger's a genius.
 15.
Excellent. Thanks for the plug
I see what you did there
 16. Not buying new would give you the best head start. There are no guarantees, though...
 17. Hello again! Here's the audio of some full tunes if anyone fancies a listen... Don't Stop Believing We Have All the Time In the World Try a Little Tenderness (with Mr. Knopfler)
 18. A couple more gigs with a single cab over the weekend... lovely. I've just had a bit of time to myself for a change, so I filled it in by making the obligatory very unscientific noodling video. Remember, no tweeter in the cab... 19.
In this weather it's near impossible to keep an entire showroom's worth of stock in tune, with perfect action and with great intonation. Believe me, I've tried!
Of course it goes without saying that my earlier comment about it being par-for-the-course doesn't apply to 'proper' shops that actually care
 20. Isn't this standard practice for guitar shops?
 21. ...and here they are in their smarty-tarty covers from Roqsolid:
 22. You should be able to get something mid-late 70s and Fender-y for around £1500 via a private sale. it would be uncouth to suggest that it would also hold its value better than a custom-build, so I won't.
