1.
£300 shipped price each, that's amazing. Very tempting, I might have to check them out. Cheers Thebassman
Yep - incredible, really. His neo cabs are a bit pricier, but still very reasonable. Mind you, his ceramic cabs are 10kg, so the Neos must float.
 2.
Agreed...time for something new imo.
The Jazz is fine. An amp, a 15" cab and a nice mic is all that's missing.
 3. I got to play with Mark Knopfler, and didn't blow it. I'm not sure how I can top that, TBH. Here's a clip: http://youtu.be/j1Ys3SBl17g?t=4m15s
 4.
Thy setup looks pretty tasty, is it 2 x 1x12's or 2 x 2x12's? What was the cost? Cheers Thebassman
1x12s...They sound tasty, too. Price info at this post.
 5. Right... here we go again. It hurts to sell this... rarer than hen's teeth - I doubt you'll find another sunburst in the UK. Custom shop quality. Info here. £1200, complete with the factory fitted case, originally supplied bits (including a perspex ramp) and additional custom-made tort pickguard (hand-made by Howard the Bass Doc). It's a lovely light weight (but not a lightweight!). Will consider trades involving lightweight vintage P's, or other interesting P / P/J things. This pic shows the only flaw in the bass which I've just noticed - a little bit of the plating is coming off one of the saddles. Purely cosmetic: Here's a little video what I made... Local collection (Newcastle-ish) preferred. Shipping considered. Go on. You know you want to.
 6.
Ah. It wasn't a thread... it was just me responding to your last inquiry! http://basschat.co.uk/topic/109898-who-remembers-sai-of-standish-coppull/page__p__1017003#entry1017003
Ha ha... My poor, addled memory. :-)
 7. My dad has a heap of old heads gathering dust in the loft, including a couple of Sound Cities. I must pull them out and have a look. He also has a cute little thing called a Nolan. Anyone familiar with them? Looks 70s.
 8. Hi Tom I'm sure you're a great bloke, but you might want to tweak your approach for the UK market...
 9. It's just a bit of gentle fun, and the OP knows it:
Thank you all for your replies. I have had some enquiries and there's a couple of people who look to fit the bill, all being well! Thanks again for the replies and humour
10.
I like the original so wont buy it.
OK.
 11.
Yes I did see the posts. Honestly, I am glad that you enjoy the updated material.... it's just not for me. I remember when Rush used to sing about integrity. This is a release to raise yet more capital.
I don't follow..? The fans have been crying out for a remix since it was released. Yeah, they should give it away free to everyone who bought it originally, but after ten years that was never going to happen. I'm not a fanboi either. I didn't go to the CA tour because the tickets were too expensive and I think they've lost the plot a little bit.
 12.
Will it? I'm perfectly happy with the original version....if you choose to buy it then good luck with that. I am sure Geddy et al will be touched by your loyalty.
Yes, it will (IMO, of course). See my earlier posts about the previously-released remixes..
 13.
And for that reason I will make do with the original cut
You do that. I'll get the new one because it'll be better.
 14. For anyone who hasn't heard it, here's the previously-available OLV remix. Obviously YouTube knacks it a bit, but it'll give you an idea.
 15.
Perhaps we could crack out a flip chart and brainstorm it first then put the ideas together into a PowerPoint presentation ?? Apologies to the OP as its probably a pretty good idea but I just got so fed up with the whole corporate thing a few years ago.
This.
 16.
Without wishing to be cynical this could be more of a commercial venture than an artistic one.
Of course it's commercial. Why would they do it otherwise?
 17. Should be good - the remixed tracks that are available already are far better.
 18.
I hate people who say "I like rock/funky/polka/tango/blues...blah blah blah *snip* I like 80s New wave, 90s synth pop, nu/italo-disco, electro pop, everything with a good mix of acoustic and electronic.
LULz
 19.
I kind of think it was intentional as a bit of a 'F... you Waters - look at us - we've got a proper bass player now', but it upset the balance and backfired I guess.
I dunno. As a live act, I think Floyd did OK since Roger left.
 20. I'm back with 12" cabs, too. No tweeters, either - my tweeter days are over. It was actually Bjelkeman's post on this thread that made me aware of TKS Engineering. They're absolutely lovely. Here's the full story.
 21. I seem to recall reading somewhere that he acknowledges this himself . When it was time for the Division Bell tour, Mr. Gilmour politely suggested to Mr. Pratt how he might play some things differently, or use different basses, to what he did / used on the DSOT tour. The 'Money' line springs to mind... straighter, and on a P.
 22.
I'm liking the tone. How much of that is due to the Walkabout head? Sounds lovely. Might have to see if I can find one.
It's hard to tell. There's no doubt the Walkabout has magic in it, but these cabs just seems to fit it like a glove. There's loads of treble on-tap, too - I had the tone rolled back on these clips. By the way, if any NE-based bashers want to a go, just let me know.
 23.
On the elderly.com ad it says it's no longer available so I suspect it's been sold and this seller will never be seen again!
Another possibility is that the seller has withdrawn it from Elderly and is trying to sell it privately.
 24.
Wonder how you recorded the sound, did you mic the cab up or was it just ambient sound to the camera?
It's recorded on a Zoom H2 a couple of feet from the cab. The drum track is being played on my Promethean combo off to the side. (I know nowt about mic placement, etc. Can you tell?)
 25. They should have taken the neck off instead. Clowns.
