  1. Quite. And of course, this works both ways.
  2. Just had a look at the website. I'm sure that Marco fella is a pleasant enough chap in real life, but... he's coming across as a bit creepy. I like how the the blurb for each of the new cabinets ends with: MODERN CLASSIC WINNING AESTHETIC Considered by all as the most beautiful cabinet on the market! All? They certainly didn't ask me. Also, I do wonder how wise it is to have almost-the-same-but-not-quite variations of each cab? History tells us people don't like choices like that.
  3. I just skipped through this. OMG.
  4. Are they fugly by any chance?
  5. Interesting one for us last night. A do in a big club room about an hour's drive away. PA was provided - they asked for, and we sent, a full spec. I brought my little cab 'cos I knew the hump was going to be a pain, and the PA would take care of FOH. We got to the venue to find the most tin-pot PA in place. PA guy (pointing at the stage box): 'There's your ins for the desk'. Us: 'Err....' PA guy: 'You do have XLRs with you, don't you?' Us: 'No. You're doing the PA. Not us.' Eventually we cobble something together, during which it becomes apparent there are no channels / mics available to put the drums or bass through the PA. Ah, well. At some point, I ask when the monitors are arriving. PA guy: 'No monitors. Sorry.' So, the theme of the day was to keep the volume down.. basically 'cos we had no choice. And it actually worked out OK in the end. Incidentally, situations like this are one of the reasons I don't fancy going down the IEM route. At least I had something with me.
  6. It works for Sean Hurley… https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=sean+hurley+charcoal+frost&client=safari&hl=en-gb&prmd=sinv&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwjA5oTzvMr4AhUUSkEAHZjaCwUQ_AUoAnoECAIQAg&biw=414&bih=719&dpr=3
  7. Which is kinda amazing when you think that 99.9999999% of songwriters would kill to be responsible for a setlist like that.
  8. Ha.. no. They’ve had bad BVs forever.
  9. Sam F. played a blinder. I'm a HUGE Crowded House fan, and they were great, but it always puzzles me why someone with ears like Neil Finn is content to tolerate BVs like that over the years.
  10. We wait and wonder...
  11. The bass is beautiful.
  12. Wow. I hope you kept the receipt…
  13. Please don’t tell me the one on the right was 100 quid…???
  14. I had a chat with Leszek about all and sundry for the first time in a while today, and asked him what the crack was re: production. 'For those who are waiting for my amplifiers, I ask for just a little bit of patience. Completely new amplifiers are being created from the electronic side, which is why the wait is so long.' He sent me a couple of teaser pics, too:
  15. Ah, well done. Very envious.
  16. Yeah... I was tempted. Shoulda, coulda, woulda.
  17. Did anyone on here snag the CAR 72 p that was on the bay recently?
  18. They don’t. At least none I’ve ever seen.
  19. Unfortunately no modern tort hits the mark, IMO. I'm still amazed that there's no practical way to replicate it.
  20. I love the GHS. To me they’re interchangeable with the La Bella 760FLs, with maybe a little more going on in the upper mids.
  21. Every one of them is 🙂
  22. Second three-gig weekend on the trot (kind-of)... this time with three different bands. Friday was a dep at a club in Sunderland with an Eagles / CSNY / Byrds / Steely Dan etc. band I occasionally work with. This time they also had a dep guitarist, which kept things extra spicy. Lots of hoying in BVs and last-minute set additions to cater for the even newer dep. Gig two was a charity do with a bunch of pals. 250 people in a club in Cullercoats. Raised a load of cash for North East homeless. Here's a bit of a tune: ..and gig 3 was supposed to be the highlight, but unfortunately it wasn't to be. The first gig by another of my old bands in ten years at a festival not far from home. Very excited, people traveling from afar... but the British weather had other plans. Two songs in, the heavens opened. Ah, well. Here's to 2032.
  23. What’s the story with these? Can find much about them. What weight is it? Looks lovely.
  24. I’m seeing asking prices go nuts at the moment. Whether they’re fetching those prices is another thing.
  25. I’ve had a couple that I would happily use as my #1 over my ‘71. But my ‘71 looks so cool and is an investment. They’re just wood, wire and metal. It’s not like they packed special 60’s and 70’s chemicals into them.
