1. They're about to start a tour, so I think he's OK now....
2.
.... also play at your normal stage volume. I play loud enough to need earplugs, but not loud enough to strip paint off walls; I have never been asked to turn down by a sound guy. If you have to turn up do it. You worry about your job, not his. It's the sound guy's job to keep up with what's happening on stage.
...unless the OP genuinely was too loud. Sometimes there's just no need for it. If it's something the OP does on autopilot, how is he going to know unless someone tells him?
3. I'm fairly sure the post DI on that head is pre-master, so you could have turned it up without affecting the feed to the desk. However, it might have started a volume war - a spiral where everyone turns up gradually. Your guitarist was better off asking for a bit in his monitor instead...
4.
I hoped you asked the bass player of the headline band if it was ok to use his rig.
I did, and I said yes :-) What a night. This moment - going back on for the encore - is burned into my brain... 5.
Has Joe had a stroke? He certainly had trouble getting his words out.
I honestly think it's because his brain is partly pickled...
6. Here's a thread from when it was first released on DVD... Strangely, in contrast to the OP, I think it's quite clear that it's Frey's band. Henley holds a veto.
7. Cheers, all! We've done about 2000, so it's pretty much full. Yay!
8.
I repeat myself when under stress, but: Congrats! I heard some bass! Now all we need is for you practise this stuff (ask them for the tabs) and that you put a playalong on YouTube. It's not too fast, is it? best, bert
ha ha.. maybe I should... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U620kBKUBLA
Ha, this thread has made me dig out my copy of the live album Magic In The Air. It is playing at a goodly volume as I type
That album is part of the reason I play the bass. It's fantastic. And now I get to play the songs with guy who played the bass originally, and the drummer. it's all a bit mindblowing...
9. Cheers, Etienne! As it 'appens, I really like the tweeterless top-end of the EX112ER. I think I prefer it to the HT with the horn rolled off. I might go for another EX and run a pair of 'em...
10.
great, and what a great gig you've got ! one of my fav all time bands, with City Song up their in my most loved all time songs
Cheers! Here's our version of City Song... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HgffQn1ldkc
11. I used 'em for a rehearsal last night and they're lovely. Rounder lows than the HS210s, with a less pronounced mid. They suit me just fine... :-)
12. Cheers, all! That was only part of the band - we were just having a knock-about for the cameras. Here's a clip of the full shebang from one of last year's gigs:
13.
But don't watch the story after, it starts very sweet then makes you want to throw up a little
It's everything that's bad about regional telly, isn't it?
14.
That is amazing Michael! Well done mate Backing vocals on key as well
..sometimes they are. Thanks!
15. Hey gang I'm playing at Newcastle City Hall on Saturday night, and the local news came along to film a bit for it. If you're at a loose and and fancy watching it, step right this way... Don't try and listen for the bass. The mic didn't pick it up...
16. Any excuse to post this... From a gig I did in February with a few people, including some you might recognise. Oh, and an orchestra.... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j1Ys3SBl17g
17. This seems like a good time to post this........
18.
Paypal's phone system is an Esheresque, labyrinthine nightmare, but, once you do get through to someone they are very helpful
...unless you want to complain.
19. 'The Best of the Beatles' is my favourite.
20. I'm starting to notice now. I must be at 'that' age...!
21. Hopefully this gives a bit of insight into why BC should pull the shutters down on him and his company and walk away.
22. Cheers, all! Here's another vid - almost a complete song. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ySSGBQfCvWo
23. ...and here we go! I'm really happy with it. The mix is great. Well, maybe bit more bass... If anyone wants to post it anywhere, please do, but can I ask that you post this link instead:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j1Ys3SBl17g#t=259
This is the one the PR people want us to use. Thank you!
