1. It was just a little joke. He'd better do Blood on the Rooftops, or there'll be blood on the stalls.
2. I'm going to the City Hall later in the year. Like you say, it's a Genesis set so I hope he does 'Throwing It All Away'.
3.
Mods...I think that this is turning into a personal attack which everybody feels justified in participating in. Not what BC should be known for. Since TB have removed the thread, thus making reference to it impossible, maybe it's time to lock this one??
If every thread on BC that involved an attack on someone not present was closed... there wouldn't be many open threads.
4. How bizarre....
5. Baz Warne is a lovely bloke, and single-handedly justifies Sunderland's existence.
6. Beautiful. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IU8Ku8A03VA&sns=em
7.
It's all very well saying that when it's someone else playing and you already know that in the context of the track it sounds great. However I bet most people on here, if it was them, would be agonising over ever minor fluff and slightly mis-picked note and small timing glitch, and wanting to get back into the live room and for another take or at least a drop-in or two to fix it. When they are your mistakes it's a lot harder to let them be, because there's a good chance that eventually on repeated listening they will ruin the track for you.
Personally, I never listen to the bass out-of-context. If I can't hear it in the track, I let it go.
8. They're not intended to be listened to in isolation.
9.
Hi all .. I am only telling you what I was told .. Put up the pics for people to look at not make me feel like liar .. John
Don't get defensive - I don't think anyone is suggesting you're a liar.
10. Nice score! it must have been fun. I'd love to buy a fixer-upper..
11. Carol Kaye played bass on every song EVER. True fact.
12. Look no further than our very own Bass Doc for all your pickguard needs. Drop him a PM and he'll sort you out for a very, very reasonable cost. Cheaper than Jeanie's, I'll bet.
13.
wow!, now this is interesting, thanks! now!...but who is Larry Taylor and sadly no details for I'm A Believer
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/I'm_a_Believer
14. http://www.addmoremusic.net/Monkees1.html
15. Little miss WoT is called Constance, and little mister WoT is called Jet. Both bass-related, but don't tell the Missus. :-D
16. Ah... helloooooo! Lovely, lovely head. We had a lot of fun together.
17. I thought I'd posted in this one already, but I can't see it. I must have dreamt it. Anyway, Laklands. Lovelier than the already lovely LaBellas, cheaper, and more definition in the mids.. very little clank and clatter. And let's face it - flats are about mids, not clank and clatter. They're out of stock but I can sell you some from the big box of them that I have in my shed that Walbassist referred to earlier. Only joking. Maybe.
18. Microbass II for me. Great bit of kit - everything the SansAmp does, without sucking the life out of your tone. However, you might like the SansAmp tone...
19.
I'm using Lakland Joe Osborne Signature Flats and they're amazing. I also got really good results with La Bella Deep Talkin'.
Both of these, especially the Laklands... they're cheaper and growlier.
20. What would he have improved by upgrading? btw, the holes were where the string mutes used to be.
21.
All good, but flats don't have to be thumpy and fat. They can be clanky, buzzy, boingy and toppy as well.
Amen.
