1. I can't understand why it's feeding back. Accordions are bloody loud, so you shouldn't have to drive the gain or have it blasting in Jim's monitor. Mrs WoT used to use a Sennheiser E608, but these days she usually just uses a mic so she can control her volume. I can't recall a blast of feedback ever. FWIW, you can roll shedloads of bottom off an accordion at a gig. It makes a heck of a difference to what's swimming around on the stage.
2. It's kind-of like loads of bass players getting together in the pub. Only not in the pub. And with gear rather than beer. You can bring stuff to show off if you want, or just come along and chew the fat. That's it, really!
3. Yay. It's amazing what can be achieved by picking up the phone.
4. Last bump, and I'll forget about selling it for a while and just play it. Which is far from a hardship. :-)
5. This is a lovely bass, folks. Sounds great, lovely weight, plays great and the relic'ing is incredibly well done.
6. IIRC the switch is there for a reason - something to do with the load on the circuit, or something.
7. Yeah - that's kind-of my feeling too. best left alone.
8. I am (I hope) a better player than I was five years ago (or even longer, if you include Bassworld). I'm doing better gigs, too. That said, Basschat's sole contribution, apart from making BC friends, has been to reduce my bank balance. It hasn't inspired me to learn to read, explore Jazz or build a bass out of milk bottle tops. I do love the 'ol place, though.
9. Ah, me too. We'll sort another for later in the year...
Who are you ?
Right - that's it. I'm leaving! ...unless loads of folk reply to say 'Aww... don't. We'll miss you.'

Basschat wouldn't be Basschat without people leaving in a hissy fit on a semi-regular basis for dramatic effect I think it's about time I did, but no bugger would miss me. *waits in vain for sympathy*
12.
I like it.
Thank goodness - at least Fender now have the option of giving them away...
13.
I'm going to put this up for sale now in the Basses for Sale section of the site. I'm open to sensible offers on it.
Just an FYI - you'll need to name a price. Forum rules and all that.
14.
Also, may be worth contacting Bootzy, as he has one; http://basschat.co.u...s/page__st__540
That's a 2001.
15. I can't help thinking it's a bit butterscotch for a 2001, which are a bit blonder. Plus the knobs are different.
16. ..it reminds me of this, even though it isn't: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f-G-GHTFoX4
17. Fender never try anything new, do they? They just stick to the same tried-and-tested designs over and over again, yadda yadda yadda. Damned if they do, damned if they don't. By the way, I think it's truly wretched. It makes me want to sick up a little bit.
18. But yes - apologies to everyone who can't make it through lack of notice. It's such an informal thing (no special guests, etc.) there didn't seem to be much point giving loads of notice. It's taken on-board for the next time. As is checking for other bashes.
19.
Yes - but I guess it's also because the bash is only three weeks away, and clashes with another one. I imagine it'd have been easier for some of us to attend if we'd had more time to organise our schedules. But hopefully there's always the next one.
We're impulsive up here, you know?
20.
I don't have any contact or work with him
Yip - if you did, you'd know he probably hasn't got a clue what an external drive or USB stick is.
21.
Unfortunately, you'll also be missing us southern bunch on that date, I'm afraid.
That's a shame.. maybe next time. Getting a date that's going to suit everyone is literally impossible. It's frustrating.
22.
i've replied to the Facebook invite so i'll be there, it's a shame it clashes with Moffat, would changing the date be a huge issue? (although the next week wouldn't be great for me.) i'm happy to throw some coins in the pot for the room hire too. Matt
Unfortunately yes - the venue is booked, and the notifications have gone out. We honestly never thought to check for a clash with another Northern bass bash. I mean, what's the chances...?
23.
In this day & age you can't be just a "face-to-face/phone" operator, nice thought, but if you offer an online facility you have to be able to back it up - or - no matter how undeserved they are - suffer the consequences.
Most of his jobs come in locally, via word-of-mouth. Old school!
