1. I really like the look of these. Soooo cool.
2. I used to think I preferred chunky P necks, but I've recent decided it doesn't matter a jot. As long as it doesn't feel like a wide, shallow plank I'm happy.
3. I'll confess I've never heard of them before - I'll ask around locally and see if anyone knows owt.
4. I love these things. Here's the pics for people like me who are too lazy to click...
5.
Video shows what appears to be a brand new bass being unpacked but the bass in the pictures is not new, as I can see a cracked finish and all that dirt around the pickups etc, so what is being sold here please?
Closet classic = light relicing.
6. Fab - looking forward to seeing that.
7. Owain mentioned he might pop along, Fatherhood permitting - I'm sure he'll bring one (or two) along if he is. Fingers crossed.
8.
If GenzBenz really are using just a bulb for illumination, then that's just rubbish. Why on earth would you not use LEDs these days and so remove the need for replacement?
It's an LED. There was a dodgy batch, and quite a few have failed.
9. Great! Your drummer is awesome.
10. I'm not defending The Doc's lack of comms - its understandable that Grant etc. felt a bit miffed. I do think it's a shame that things can be left to fester, when a simple phone call is often all that's needed. We're all grown-ups.
11.
Isn't that impossible ?
Not if you're the Queen.
12. IME the Microvox feeds back like a banshee...
13. Ah, well. Cool band, by the way...
14. I'd persuade him to spend the money on a decent accordion, tbh. There's no reason a decent one would need judicious EQing, other than a hi-pass or the lows rolled off..
15. Hmmm... he does move about a bit, doesn't he? I can see how that would be a challenge. Maybe give the E608 a shot.
16. Also - why's he got the EQ pedal? Does he need it? Just go straight into the desk.
17. I can't understand why it's feeding back. Accordions are bloody loud, so you shouldn't have to drive the gain or have it blasting in Jim's monitor. Mrs WoT used to use a Sennheiser E608, but these days she usually just uses a mic so she can control her volume. I can't recall a blast of feedback ever. FWIW, you can roll shedloads of bottom off an accordion at a gig. It makes a heck of a difference to what's swimming around on the stage.
18. It's kind-of like loads of bass players getting together in the pub. Only not in the pub. And with gear rather than beer. You can bring stuff to show off if you want, or just come along and chew the fat. That's it, really!
19. Yay. It's amazing what can be achieved by picking up the phone.
20. Last bump, and I'll forget about selling it for a while and just play it. Which is far from a hardship. :-)
21. This is a lovely bass, folks. Sounds great, lovely weight, plays great and the relic'ing is incredibly well done.
22. IIRC the switch is there for a reason - something to do with the load on the circuit, or something.
23. Yeah - that's kind-of my feeling too. best left alone.
