1.
It felt like they were just cashing in on the memory of the Beatles.
...he wrote, whilst sitting in the Hard Day's Night hotel. :-D
2. Nice one, Clarky! I love these amps so much - there's nothing else quite like them.
3.

Oh really...?
4. What a flippin' bargain.
5. This is the worst it ever got for me: Miraculously, the gear survived. The van didn't.
6. Looking forward to hearing your thoughts on Streamliner Vs. MPulse....
7. Hi all I played at The Mouth of the Tyne festival yesterday, supporting The (formerly Beautiful) South and Heaven 17. I know the chaps from the PA company, and they handed me a recording on a memory stick as I walked off the stage. Technology, eh? Here's a tune: Fender Roscoe Beck, DI'd...
8. The mobile version of the site does it fer me - if I need increased functionality, I'll temporarily switch to the full version.
9. Ha! No... I was using the TC RH450 with the Compact which, in retrospect, was a head I hated. I want another go with a 'proper' amp... :-)
10. Man, this is gold dust. In my book, anyone capable of writing songs called 'Potato Famine' and 'Gonna Fonk You Up' is 100% win.
11. Interesting weekend... On Saturday night, one of my bands played on a ferry that went along the Tyne from Tynemouth to Newcastle. It was one of the small passenger ferries so it was a bit of a squish, but it was fun. Today was The Mouth Of the Tyne festival, supporting The (formerly Beautiful) South, and Heaven 17. Here's a pic of Mrs. WoT & I: ...and here's the stage:
12. Anyone 'round Newcastle got a Compact or a Midget I could have a quick go of?
13.
I'm looking for a good offer, so I don't know a price. Including carrying bag by the way!
Forum rules, I'm afraid - you have to state a price.
14. I'll find out what key we're doing it in - it's probably not the recorded key - then listen to it a few times until I know the song and the line. I'll then sit down with my bass, and hopefully be able to play most of it off the bat. I'll spend a bit of time working the tricky bits out. It works for me, but then it's the only way I know.
15.
This is why I've never bought an expensive bass.
What is why...?
16. brilliant... thank you!
17. Mine are all worth a few quid, but I don't worry about them. That's what insurance is for.
18. Ah - I read 'STL' as Streamliner.. The Walkabout is a great amp...
19. Incidentally.. like me, you have experience of the Streamliner and the Walkabout. I'd be interested in hearing your thoughts...
20. Wow.. that's so cool. Thanks for the commentary. I like the idea of the switch, as the pre-master signal might be handy sometimes. I'm completely cack-handed so I'd ask someone who knows what they're doing to do it... let us know how you get on!
21.
It was my understanding that you can set your choice via the user CP to choose the regularity of notifications?: Or is this not working?
'Immediate' tells you every time someone replies to a thread... which can get messy. There's no setting to just tell you the once, like there is on other forums (and BC pre-migration). As an aside, I'll bet BC's advertisers would love this to be reinstated...
22.
Specs are a strange one, but weren't Mesa on the bad end of this with the stupidly heavy and expensive 400+ ?
Apparently so.
23.
My other contender for tone that i have reviewed most recently is the EBS Reidmar. Sounds great, but i'm not sure how it would get on powering the ACME though. EBS believe it can match a 500w in terms of volume output, but i was unable to compare at the time of review. The Acme requiring a little more juice to get it fired up may mean the Reidmar would struggle to be heard.
I have a feeling - and I'd love to be proved wrong - that many / most of manufacturers of class D brands have been a little fanciful with the truth when it comes to wattages, i.e. it's not just TC who have an excessively creative marketing department. If that's the case, then EBS are to be applauded for keepin' it real.
24.
Streamliner 9. As mentioned before there is a small difference (in heft) between the class d amps and the old skool heavy stuff IMO.
That's what I thought, until one day it dawned on me....
25.
Why? The AI into the Acme with a good preamp will give you one very good rig for both leccy and DB. Maybe a different pre for leccy and DB would be all you'd need.
Yip - I used to double with my AI Focus: Jazz / Precision > EBS Microbass pre > Focus URB > K&K pre > Focus Worked a treat.
