I just hope geddy doesn't come in singing a no-melody melody a fifth above the tonic. It's getting really irritating that. Also Razcinulez had better leave the dynamics in there instead of that disgusting travesty of mastering on S&A.
+1 - there's a definite lack of melodies on their latter-day albums.

Haters gonna keep hatin', but for everyone else... http://bcove.me/hwp437l4 And here's the tracklist: 1. Caravan 2. BU2B 3. Clockwork Angels 4. The Anarchist 5. Carnies 6. Halo Effect 7. Seven Cities Of Gold 8. The Wreckers 9. Headlong Flight 10. BU2B2 11. Wish Them Well 12. The Garden OK, it's only a 30-second clip but it sounds nice and lively, and Alex's guitar seems to have a bit of bite to it, rather than the fat slab of nonsense he's been using recently. Also... Track 10 - BU2B2? Jesus... the first one wasn't anything special. We wait and wonder.

Help on value of my Fender Precision Please (1969)

Assuming it had a tort guard originally, I think you'd be looking at this side of 2K, a bit less if there's no case. But the market is crazy at the minute, so who knows? -

The Changingman - Intro from an ELO track

See also White Room / Tales Of Great Ulysees by Cream, and a load of other songs. It's quite a common progression... -
I also had years and years of problem-free PayPal use... ...until a couple of weeks ago when something went wrong. Never in my life have I encountered such appalling customer service. I was literally shocked. I now hate them with a passion, and the sooner their monopoly is broken, the better.
For all the horror stories (been there myself) E-bay is probably a lot safer than buying or selling at public auction. Steve
Taking this thread as an example, it's probably easier to spot 'serious undisclosed damage to the headstock that could not be repaired' at a public auction than it would be buying over eBay.

Not totally musical, but - 'Price point'. 'Tone goals'. Horrible phrases carried over from Talkbass, infesting BC like Japanese knotweed.

Fer me, it's random. Sometimes I'm thrown to the start, sometimes the end, and sometimes the middle of a thread. It's all very confusing.

Q: What do you call a drummer who can't keep time? A: Not a drummer, that's for sure. If you find yourself up against one of these, I either bite your tongue and soldier on, sack him, or leave the band. Life's too short to educate drummers who can't keep time.
This was at the reunion of my old band, the drummer gets a solo and the singer decides to do some weird bloody dance for the first minute or so. Despite it being a full reunion only the guitarist and the singer are original members of the five in the band. It has to be said after seeing this I'm glad I didn't get the call! 2007. My band of the time has a gig on the Isle of Arran. The band are split between the band van (containing PA, instruments, gear, manager, band members, hangers-on and roadie) and my car with a couple of other band members who need to be back to Newcastle the following day bit quicker for various reasons. The next day, we dash off ahead of the van, and stop at Happendon Services for coffee and cake. The phone rings - it's our drummer, who tells us that for some reason, the van driver decided to go home via the back roads (we predicted this - it's partly why we took the car). He can barely contain his amusement as he tells us what happened next.
Evening Chronicle, 2007 Singer Peter Donegan leapt for his life when his tour van careered out of control and plunged into a river. The son of the legendary king of skiffle Lonnie Donegan managed to throw himself out of the front passenger door of the van just before it crashed through a picnic table and hurtled into the river. Unmarked after cheating serious injury, he could be excused for pausing to thank his lucky stars. But Peter, 23, was more concerned about his dad's guitar and banjo which were in the back of the van. Peter was travelling back to the family home in Bedlington from a gig on the Isle of Arran in a group of five people which included his mum Sharon and former Lindisfarne drummer Ray Laidlaw on Sunday when they stopped at a picnic spot near Dumfries in Scotland. The van started rolling down the hill towards a river with Peter in it. He said: "I just jumped. It went through a picnic table but fortunately no-one was using it. It went down a little embankment and into the river nose-up which saved the equipment in the back. "The engine compartment was flooded and there was water in the front of the van. If I had stayed in it I would have gone through the windscreen. It all happened in an instant. I tried to grab the handbrake but it was too late and I just managed to jump out of the vehicle before it toppled into the river and sank. "My first thought was that I had my dad's guitar and banjo in the back of the van. They are 50 years old and priceless, Fortunately when they pulled out the van and opened up the back they were all intact."
FWIW, after about six months of regular gigging with my TC RH450, I pulled the head out of my Promethean and used it at a few gigs just to see how it compared. It sounded - IMO - far, far better. It was still warm, but had a natural unforced clarity the TC lacked. The TC wasn't long for this world after that. Assuming the Harley Benton and RedSub are much of a muchness with the Promethean, they're absolute bargains.

I do wonder. I bought my '71 P in Indianapolis, and my fretless '71 came from Italy. I don't know anything about their histories. However, by '71 J was bought new from Barratt's in Manchester for £247. It was then played by the original owner (I have a letter from him) up until a handful of years ago. It was owned by another chap for a short time, and then it ended up with me. It's completely stock apart from the pickups, which I swapped.

Hi folks One of my bands, Rosie & the Hips, did a radio session on Bishop FM last weekend. They've put some video clips up - here's one. It's my RBIV through a Promethean, into the camera's on-board mic. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1S59J0_Fj8o
