Hi all! A little while ago I spotted an ad for a singer songwriter who needed a band. I wasn't really looking for something, but I heard a couple of her songs and I was hooked. Somehow I've found the time between other stuff, got a couple of friends on-board, and we've now got an originals and a cover set rehearsed up. The Ventures bass was a MIJ special edition... A different kettle'o'fish to this one. :-)

If anyone has problems with volume, I'd ask them to make sure they've done a factory reset and ensure the patch volume is maxx'd. It might not be the case for your mate, but I'm sure there will have been instances where people will have tried it in the shop etc. and written it off because the patch volume was set really quiet..

For me, the ratings issue that subsequently came to light kind-of explained what I didn't like about the head. It all made sense. But, some people really like it, and that's fine.

There are some very nice basses from that era. Fender had scaled back, and weren't throwing them out the door in silly numbers like they did in the late 70s. I always liked the siennabursts... they're very bonny.

Yeah.. it's quite well documented now everywhere apart from TC's marketing. The compression bothers some people.. me, for example. Others are quite happy with the way the amp sounds.

The Walkabout is a great head. It has a few oddities (no mute, DI is post master-volume, no Speakons), but if you want tubiness in a small head, that's the way to go (or a Streamlimer IMO). However.. the 15" Scout Cab (caveat - I've only played the 12"): The 12" combo is great for the old-school vibe (nothing Wootenesque), but it's a bugger to carry around. I imagine the 15" is a ) even harder to carry around and b ) is overly flubby, even less capable of nailing anything Wootenesque. All IMO, of course.
