1. Hi again Gaz from Seco got back to me a week or so ago, and I forgot to post it. Sorry!
Can you please tell them that they are all at sale prices to clear as I am stoppng bass parts so grab a bargain and if they want to see what they look like finished then check out facebook.com/secoguitars
I've had a look and there's a photo on there of a couple of P's on there with this comment:
This is the two I built with the necks/tuners/neck plates I had from you recently Gaz. I can highly recomend these necks, for the price they are a bloody bargain, nice traditional chunky "C" profile, good quality Gloss finishes. Pity you're backing off from the bass stuff due to lack of interest.
Again, just passing this on because I know the lad and I can vouch for him - I have no vested interest in it.
2.
Having said that if the speaker in the 15" combo can actually take the power of the in-built amp without 'clicking', than that's something.
To be fair, that's not the norm. You were just unlucky.
3. Love that... dynamic, and loads of space. Well done.
4. It's currently at Howard the Bass Doc's, getting a spruce up before I put it back up with more current pictures. Here's a peek from six years ago. Not that it's changed much since then...
5.
The rules say " Children and spouses must not be offered for sale on the forum, even if to help fund Fender Roscoe Beck or other bass guitars"
...which is a shame, as I'd find it easier to deal with...!
6. I have to. It'll be back up soon... :-(
7. I didn't know they'd be that much cheaper direct from the US...
8. It came with a new set of Hi-Beams on it. I've done a couple of gigs with it, but rounds always sound (to me!) like there's a hole in the mids. That's why I moved to flats originally... every year or so I'll go through a rounds spell to remind myself why I'm a flats person.
9. Yeah! It's lovely with the La Bellas on, but I need a new set so I thought I'd experiment...
10. Yeah.. I shall hang on to my combo for dear life. It's irreplaceable.
11. Here you go. On the surface of it... disappointing. Here's a link to the full image.
12. Hi folks I fancy trying a set of the above... does anyone in the UK stock them?
13.
Seriously, I'd much rather be in a band with people I got on with than people who were the brilliantest at what they do.
It is possible to get on with people who are very good at what they do. As for being in a band with a drummer who has a flaky concept of timekeeping because they're a friend... it's akin to persevering with a car with square wheels just because you're fond of it. If you're not bothered about getting anywhere, and are happy for people to point and laugh... knock yourself out.
14. I'm not sure I'd spend time teaching a drummer how to keep time. it's something they should just 'know'. If they can't feel it, then... meh.
15. I took it to Warwickhunt's last night for a bit of a plunk - it sounded great through his Thunderfunk and Aggie DB. It's now - finally - got an old set of flats on it, and they're staying.
16.
He went on to say that EBS are just more accurate with their figures.
Glad to hear that. Let's hope all the others follow suit.
17. Gigged it last night and it's glorious. *sigh*
18.
I never saw that beautiful "2011" Fender Custom Shop Precision Pro (a P/J with Jazz neck) on sale anywhere. The latest Fender CS catalogue for 2012 http://fendercustomshop.com/# shows this model in Olympic White (the 2011 was in sunburst) but who knows if you'll ever see one in the shops, given the seeming non-appearance of the 2011 version?
Oh, the 2011 exists! At least one person on TB owns one (it has butterbeans!), that posh bass shop in Spain had one, but it must have sold straight away, and a few of the bigger German retailers had them in. I don't imagine many were made.
19.
Not sure I'd be classed as a 'hater' or not.. but it doesn't bother me either way, tbh. if I found a Fender that I liked then I might be interested...but then again, I'd know where else to look so ..??
No, no.. I mean the people who whinge every time Fender release something and then harp on about what they 'should' be doing, as if Fender exists to break new ground in guitar R&D.
20. Why don't all you haters drop Fender emails to tell them where they're going wrong, and what they 'should' be doing? They're clearly not selling enough basses and could do with a hand to get their sales volume up to the level of Dingwall, Sadowsky, Sandberg, etc.
21.
As long as the tort isnt that MIJ/CIJ bright red tort, it will look great.
Howard's got some lovely rich, dark tort in.. warm and mellow. Not the pepperoni stuff you see all-too-often.
