1.
still the same amount of 'space'
..and lots more of it white.
 2.
The last forum was just as white, so it's probably just adjusting to the new size of the boxes etc..
I'm not sure there was so much white space..?
 3.
Too bright, like staring at a light bulb. Are there any alternative skins?
I agree... It's tiring to look at. Acres of bright white.
 4.
Tried flushing still very very slow, even slower than dial-up.. How do you flush in Win 7?
Flushing won't help the performance problem. It's a DB thing.
 5. FWIW, the way I use BC means the number of sub-forums is irrelevant to me. The only time I look for a specific forum is when I'm perusing the for sale areas. Other than that, it's 'view new posts' or the search function.
 6.
Whilst I appreciate it's all new and things take a while to sort out I'm not liking the mobile side of things, I'm trying to look at the latest posts on a thread ie "how was your gig last night" and the button on the left takes me to posts from 2008! I then can't shortcut to the end without scrolling through about 120 pages. Of course I might be missing something here, please tell me if so!
Tap the star to the left of the thread title, and it'll take you to the last unread post. Ped.. an FAQ for this stuff would *really* help...
 7. ha ha - thanks for the responses. Bottomendian wins the prize for guessing correctly. I've had a listen to some of his stuff on YouTube (just solo voice and piano) and he's not bad at all. No secrecy, really.. I'm just not really sure what we're recording and what it's for yet. I'll let you know more when I know myself..!
 8.
See thread RE latency in site issues forum
Ped.. May I suggest a locked 'Known Issues / FAQ' thread you can keep updated, and refer people to, might be a good idea...?
 9.
I think it depends on why you've been booked. If it's as a result of some other band/gig etc. then use whatever bass you were using for that. If it's just because you play bass, are available and at the right price then you'll probably need to take both.
I've booked by the chap who is the MD of the session, so he knows what he's getting. I'll be taking all three, just in case...
 10.
I've found that when using the iphone, you don't get the option to go to the last post in a thread - it goes to the the first post and then once in the thread there is no option to go to the last page, only a 'next page' button. This makes it impossible to contribute to threads which are more than a couple of pages long - I'm not going to click through 196 pages of daily annoyances just to get to the latest one!!!!!
Tap the little star to the left of the thread title, and it'll take you to your last unread post. It's been mentioned elsewhere that the mobile site is not finished yet - there's a bit of tweaking to be done.
 11.
As far as the notifications are concerned... There are far too many options there to make sense of. When the techs get a chance, how about one of them posting a screen dump showing how to get the notifications back to the old 'one notification per topic' format?
I don't think it can be done at the moment - it's on the to-do list, I think....
 12. Despite not being a fan of the show (and its ilk) I was quite chuffed to get the phone call. The big question is - J or P?
 13.
Oh, I see. Sorry, I don't know. Will pass it up the chain. Use the 'view new content' bit and select the type (i.e 'topics I have posted in') to get a list of threads you want to see if the notifications are getting out of hand, for now.
Cheers, Ped. You must feel like we're hammering you...
 14.
You won't get emails at all if the box isn't ticked
I think we're at cross purposes - all we want is a single notification when a reply is posted - not one for every instance....
 15.
Should be sorted now, I have turned email notification by default off for everything except PMs. ped
But... does that mean we'll not get any reply notifications?
 16. Hola! I've just come home after being out for a few hours, and like a few others I have 70-odd reply notifications for about three threads. Is it fix-able..?
 17. Yeah.. It's sluggish for me too.
 18. Whilst we're all in nitpicky mode, I also think the 'view new posts' screen is a little bit too spaced out - you have to scroll up and down it a lot more than you used to. Yes, I'm lazy.
 19. I now seem to be getting an email for every reply... I need to tweak some more, I think...!
 20. Yep... In the 'new content' list it would be nice to have the parent forums listed in a column, so you can scan down it for basses for sale, amps for sale, etc.
 21. Dare I say some functions are running pretty slowly (for me, anyway). Searches are averaging 15-20 seconds, for example..?
 22.
Yes, by default everything is turned off! I think generally people don;t want to be bothered by emails and notifications as they might see it as spam, especially with the new types available on the new site - it's easier to allow each user to add what they like. I just had a notification of this reply as a red balloon and I have been sending PMs which I choose to be notified of my email. Hope it's working for you now? Cheers ped
Yep- it's working now. Thank you! I see your point, but I assume new users have the chance to select whether they want to receive notifications or not. Current users would probably want the status quo maintained, I reckon...?
 23.
Working for me. Make sure you tick the box next to the event type, too.
Ah - I've been through and configured what notifications I want. Is that by design? I would have thought reply & PM notifications would be best set to 'on' by default...?
 24. Sold locally. Thanks for all the interest!
 25. Hmmmm... is anyone getting reply notifications? I've checked my settings and by default it's set to this: Auto follow topics I reply to. Notification frequency: Immediate ..but I'm still not getting anything. Also, i think 'view new content' is a little vague. IMO it should be renamed to 'View new posts'.
