5.
nice sound have a bump!
Thank you
6. Here y'are.
7. Hmmm... It looks really like a modded MIA that Warwickhunt used to own (and Bottomendian before that, I think)... I really like the newer P's and J's. They look solid.
8. Here's my Roqsolid experience... excellent, it was.
9. This'll cheer you up, Pete - all taken from a local musician's forum: Subject: Nearly Dan 'Saw these at the sage last night, close your eyes and you would have thought it was Steely Dan. It's the 3rd time i've saw these and they just get better and better.' 'They were awesome, not enjoyed a gig so much as that for a long while. Brill musicians and great atmosphere !!' 'Loved every minute of it...........' 'Good night out. If your a fan go and see them. Superb. had a bit crack on with the singer at the bar and he was spot on.' Now cheer up, you miserable get.
10. 27 quid for that? No chance...
11.
Just like Stock/Aitken/Waterman in the 80's or Simon Cowell today. I very much doubt whether it will be much listened to once the generation that grew up with it have passed on. How many people listen to Bing Crosby now? How many will in another twenty years time?
Maybe so, but Motown has a massive influence on a lot of important and up-and-coming artists of today. More so that SAW, I'd say. FWIW, I'm not a big Motown fan.
12. Fairy nuff.... I have no idea what Lady Ga Ga sounds like, or most of the new divas, for that matter. Apart from Rumer, who IMO is marvellous.
13.
I dare say I could pick out a Gaga song in the first few bars, and wouldn't be able to tell Dusty Springfield or Aretha Franklin apart if I heard the two alongside each other.
Have a feel around in your ears... I think you'll find there's some cloth in there.
14.
I've not been on here long but I have noticed a huge interest in gear and little interest in self improvement.
That's not to say self-improvement isn't happening. It's just that, to most people, talking about gear is more fun.
15. Dammit. Last time you were here, I had a gig. This time I have TWO gigs. Are you doing this on purpose? Enjoy it...!
16.
PS I've just noticed you endorse "gear", so perhaps you're part of the problem? Do spectraflex cables and elite strings help you communicate better?
Ha ha..
17. The quest to get a P sound from a standard J route is akin to the search for the holy grail, I'm afraid. I get close with a split-coil Fralin in mine, but it still misses that bit of magic that makes a P a P.
18. Great combo, great price. Don't forget, folks.. this is also an excellent 500w stand-alone head, too!
19. Here's vid of me plunking around on it, followed by a little twirl around it with the camera. Note: I am not an accomplished EUB player. Please bear it in mind...!
20. I can only think he's tightened the neck bolts too tight, and it's cut off the air supply.... It'll probably drop off by the time the auction ends.
21. I run a couple of FB band sites. I go for quality over quantity. People are fans because they want to be. And I only post stuff which is of genuine interest. Post too much crap and you'll just give people update fatigue. If that happens, there's a real chance they'll switch off and miss when you have something really important to say. That's why I never got it when people on here (and other forums) post things like 'I've got a mate who has opened a shop - can everyone like him please?' Uh... why?
22. Bump! A couple of interested PM's, but nothing firm yet...
23. Hi all! This is a CR4 - one of NS Design's high-end EUB's. It's active, so no pre-amp is needed, the uprated CR stand, and it comes with a fitted NS Design case. It also comes fitted with Innovation Honey strings and the optional NS Design neck heel. These basses can be easily adjusted, from a low action for players used to electric basses, up to a high action for hardcore Double Bass players. There's a few surface scuffs and scratches which could be touched up no problem. One of the knobs is missing (I'm sure NS would provide a replacement) but the knob can still be turned easily by the shaft (a new replacement from NS Design - the original shaft had been broken by a previous owner). £680 collected from Whitley Bay-ish, £700 shipped in the UK (Currently £1800 on Thomann!). Can deliver within reason. More pics available on request.
24. Ah.. bless you, Si. You've hit that age. Give the coffee-table basses and chatting up twenty-somethings in nightclubs a miss, and restrict yourself to buying a few Hawaiian shirts and a 2-seater sports car. You'll be fine.
