1. This thread is useless without background music.
 2.
Berlin's a good player but he doesn't half talk some absolute cockwash sometimes. He [s]sounds[/s] looks like he hasn't [s]listened to[/s] worn anything contemporary for about thirty years.
Fixed it for you...
 3.
Nee chance o that kidda.
A diddent think see!
 4.
"Owt" is a word in British English? I have never heard of it.
Am guessing yiv nivvor been roond owa neck of the woods, marra...?
 5.
Some money instead of none?
Ah, sorry - I thought you meant 'as opposed to a meagre guarantee'. Point taken. Truth is, until an originals band is established, they're going to have to put up with stuff like this.
 6.
In my book a good covers band deserves every penny they get and more, why shouldn't they get a portion of the take they provide the bar with the punters they bring, it's just a shame that's not the same with the originals world, is all I was saying.
I doubt most originals bands would want it to be the same...
 7.
'oo are you??
I was wondering the same thing... Is he Basschat's previously unknown arch-lord?
 8.
Yes it does, what I meant, and you will notice as well, that the neo cab definately has better dynamic response, it's punchier and more defined in the mid to low range, the 2 together work perfectly, but if you try the head with either speakers you will realize what I mean.
Not sure that's specifically a Neo thing - IIRC the extension cab is a significantly bigger box.
 9.
This all seems reasonable and understandable. Never been a massive fan of most music most covers bands play if I'm honest (or at least the ones I've seen). Nothing bad about it, just too far before my time for me ever to have been a fan, and consequently only having a vague knowledge of the songs means I'm rarely interested. Perhaps cover bands in 20 years time will be playing Foo Fighters and Muse. That'll be good :-) (not massive fans of either but it's music I know).
Heh... quite a few of the covers bands around here play more recent stuff I'm not familiar with.
 10.
do these people exist in their droves and just in different circles to my own?
Yep.
IME people go to a venue to see a specific band they know is playing.
'Round our way, lots of people just go to their local. Some people travel to see bands, but I'd say more fall into the former category. And then... some pubs have a reputation for only having good stuff on (by and large). They tend to get bigger crowds.
 11. One of the biggest pub gigs around this neck of the woods tried this a few years ago. Unfortunately it didn't work out as most of the bands were suspicious of it. The ones that tried it did OK... some actually did very well out of it.
 12.
I think the word you may be looking for is "aught." I don't know how much it is used in the UK, but it is no longer used very much in the U.S.
'Owt'.
 13. Also - try dropping the pickups a bit. As you go up the neck, the strings might be getting a little close which will kill the definition.
 14. ^^^ +1 to Jovial Jack's comment. IME it's an essential bit'o'gear.
 15. FWIW, although I'm rarely on Basschat*, this hasn't been a problem for me, either. I'm on Virgin cable, FWIW. *This may be a lie.
 16. Been playing for... 22 years. *shudder* Highs: Touring America twice. Playing Newcastle City Hall for the first time. Playing Earl's Court at the Great British Beer festival... pulling up in the van, looking at the front of the building, and thinking 'whooooah'. Lows: Being in California in the middle of a tour when 9/11 happened. No knowing what was happening, what was going to happen, and how we were going to get home. Also, a couple of years ago, I was sacked from another band and left without a gig for the first time... ever. A strange experience. Also... playing at Stockton Buffs social club. I have no idea how I ended up doing a social club gig, but I'm never going back.
 17. Just bought an iRig adapter thingy from Mark. Everything went as smooth as silk. Thanks, Mark!
 18.
Michael, are you gigging it on its own or with the Bergs? Not going off the Streamliner are you???
I've recently started doing gigs with a singer / acoustic guitarist and a perc player. At first, I was using the Streamliner and a single Berg, but I had to use the Prom combo a couple of times when the stage area was tiny (even though the rooms themselves were quite big). It did a great job, even though don't going through the PA, so I'm using it pretty much full-time with this band. It can't half throw it out when needed. For everything else, the Streamliner rules all. It's got 'it', and still makes me grin like an idiot. Of course, the Prom head is a worthy backup.
 19. Cool! I've started gigging mine fairly regularly. A couple of nights a week. Love it... I'd love to give the 210 a shot!
 20. Awesome! Welcome to a select gang of cool people who are both handsome and witty. I may be wrong, but I think you'll be the first BC'er with a 2x10. It should be fab, but I'd love to hear what you think...
 21.
So this is the "Ampeg" of the Genz Benz world? Can this do the crazy things a Tech 21 Sansamp can do?
IMO... Tubey? Yes. Ampeg-y? More so than the Shuttle, but not massively close. As for crazy Tech 21 Sansamp stuff... FWIW, I hated the Sansamp with a passion, but I love the Streamliner.
 22.
Nope I've had it since it was about 4-5 years old, it still looks the same, yellow, red, black Dec
Sunbursts are yellow, red and black...?
 23. Who are these Slipknots? Have they had any songs in the hit parade?
