1. Cheers all Circumstances have changed - this one's staying with me. Thanks for all your PM's and EUB advice.
 2. One bump, and I'll hoy the towel in...
 3.
You Tease!!
Sorry Updated to include an NS Design EUB in a trade..
 4. It's flying along for me... unless I try and view a BC-hosted attachment. They're taking forever to pop up.
 5.
Didn't see that coming!
Me neither..! I've missed out on a couple of gigs recently 'cos I don't play DB, so... needs must.
 6. Hi all I always said this bass would stay with me forever - I've had it for years and I love it. It'll probably not go anywhere, but you never know. One of the first - Feb '71... Rare Raven PBR-1 Active preamp (no mods required - it just dropped in). It currently has a lovely replacement Allparts unlined ebony neck with correct decal, as I really don't want to wear out the beautiful rosewood of the original. Of course the original factory fretless neck would be supplied along with the bass. I'll post photos of it with the original neck when I dig them out. I am ONLY interested in letting this go as part of a trade for a 4-string Eminence or NS Design EUB. That's it - nothing else will be entertained.
 7.
Not selling, but I've got Clarky's removeable neck Eminence, both Yamaha SLB100 & 200 + acoustic double basse if you fancy a couple of hours hands on in Harrogate.
Might do that sometime... thanks, Mr. B! How are you getting on with the Eminence? Enjoying it?
 8. A bit OT, but.. has anyone tried deep-fat-frying one of these?
 9. What price was he asking...?
 10. This thread is awesome and it hasn't even started yet.
 11. My turn now... anyone selling a fixed-neck 4-string Eminence? Unlikely I know...
 12.
I'll let everyone know how it goes and post the appropriate feedback.
If it doesn't work out and you want to move it on, drop me a PM.
 13. Oh, FFS... I've been looking for one of these for ages!
 14. Awesome! Nothing snake oil about it - on a bad stage, it REALLY helps.
 15.
Hey guys, I'd more or less decided that my next amp head would be an Ampeg SVT3-pro, i've played through one before and thought it ticked all the boxes. However, when i mentioned this to a bass playing friend of mine his response was "Do yourself a favour and keep your eyes out for a second hand Warwick tubepath 5,1, i've owned both and given the choice now i'd take the Warwick every time, it does everything the SVT3 does and more". So, have any of you guys owned/used one, and is he right, are they that good? The sticking point could be that used Tubepath's are like rocking horse s**t! Not that i'm in any drastic hurry, i'd need to shift some gear on first anyway. So, opinions please ladies and gentleman!
I had a 10.1. Very nice amp... very loud, nice EQ. It has a 'proper' tube pre like the Mesa stuff (and, I believe, the Genz Streamliner). Things to be aware of - It's heavier than Jupiter, and IME it's quite dark sounding in character. You could probably EQ that out, though. (Incidentally, a year or two on, my search has ended at the Streamliner. It eclipses every amp I've had, which also includes a SVT-3pro).
 16. Lovely.. done already, though!
 17.
Does anyone have a copy of 'The Fender Bass an illustrated history'? I have one somehwere and am 99% sure that in there is a 'prodcution' Precision with sunburst body and blocked maple neck. Not saying they made it for long but I think they did make it, whether it was made in the 70's is another thing, i will dig the book out tonight.
There's a black one with a white guard, and blocks. P w/blocks was never a production model... unfortunately.
 18.
Bob Carolgees' fretless playing is awesome - a unique left hand technique.
+1. What a tone... it really barks.
 19. This thread is useless without background music.
 20.
Berlin's a good player but he doesn't half talk some absolute cockwash sometimes. He [s]sounds[/s] looks like he hasn't [s]listened to[/s] worn anything contemporary for about thirty years.
Fixed it for you...
 21. Jeff Berlin... is that the fella that's got Spit the Dog?
 22.
Nee chance o that kidda.
A diddent think see!
 23.
"Owt" is a word in British English? I have never heard of it.
Am guessing yiv nivvor been roond owa neck of the woods, marra...?
 24.
Some money instead of none?
Ah, sorry - I thought you meant 'as opposed to a meagre guarantee'. Point taken. Truth is, until an originals band is established, they're going to have to put up with stuff like this.
 25.
In my book a good covers band deserves every penny they get and more, why shouldn't they get a portion of the take they provide the bar with the punters they bring, it's just a shame that's not the same with the originals world, is all I was saying.
I doubt most originals bands would want it to be the same...
