1. Tonally, the Streamliner is unbeatable, IMO. I'm clutching at straws to think how I could possibly improve it (bear in mind I'm a simple chap) and all I can think of is a tuner and a clip light. The RH450 is a monster when it comes to features, but the truth is I never really used any of them.
 2. I use a Zoom H2. It's champion...
 3.
Now that's what I'm talkin about.... I've had a hankering to try some Bergs for a while now. Those cabs look quite big physically due to the offset positioning of the 10s. How would you rate one of those cabs next to a GS112? They're expensive buggers too... am I right?
The cabs do look big in the pic, but singly they're really very compact and an easy lift. The whole shebang is very stable, and it'll never topple... especially using a micro head. I've never used a GS112, but as far as I'm aware it's quite a scooped cab. The HS210 isn't... it's got lots going on in the mids. Expensive... yes. Like Stella Artois. I'm lucky - with the Streamliner, I've hit on a perfect combination. I barely use both cabs any more. The STL and a single cab don't half chuck it out...
 4.
Nope. looks absolutely ridiculous, for a start.
I can't agree...
 5.
I had a rehearsal (low volume) with my drummer/guitarist/vocalist about 10 months back...bear in mind we did this where I lived so it wasn't that loud! The single middle pup nailed the P tone...and the front pup sounded woody warm and weirdly articulate considering it's location. I had a good few hours through the headphones along to as many different styles as I could try out, fiddled with the pup settings and it worked really well
Ah, cool. It sounded like you'd had loads of live and studio experience with it, and I was wondering how you found it.
 6.
It sounds wonderful in a mix, believe me. Before judging it, try it, that's what I did
Did you get to try one at a gig?
 7. I had a mudbucker. Great bass, but an unusable pickup for my needs. Earthworms could hear it, but no-one else.
 8.
Gerlitz Guitar Honey gets my vote.....
+1
 9. Nom nom nom!
 10.
From tomorrow's Sun. The sobbing woman was my wife. Seeing Rush for the first time since about 1980 proved too much for her Cheers Mark
What the heck's going on with Rush? They used to be MY band. Now they're even in the flippin' Sun.
 11.
if you don't see the value in it, you can always say nothing, instead of treating it as an excuse to imply your 'serious composer' credentials
I was merely asking what it was for. To be honest, I still don't know.
 12.
Bless Norwood. There are loads of bands that were improved by the use of drugs - look at the sh*t the 'clean' Chili Peppers are putting out these days.
I think that says more about how the Chili Peppers can't create anything decent without a bit of help, rather than the benefits of drugs. Ask Frank Zappa.
 13.
How on earth do we bassists have fewer notes???
I have thirteen-and-a-half.
 14. Has anyone got any experience with Tea Bag-End cabs? I'm just wondering if the way the grille is perforated lets the tone flow out uninhibited...?
 15. I's a bit of a Jarre freak, and I like loads of acoustic stuff. So... nah. There doesn't have to be bass. BUT... when it coms to The Black Keys, White Stripes, etc.. I'd rather hear them with a bass. Never liked the Doors.
 16. I still don't get it. I guess it's just not fer me...
 17.
tEden
As used by The Ty-Phoo Fighters on their current tour, I believe.
 18.
Err, it seems utterly pointless to me. Would someone kindly explain what I'm missing here please.
I'm struggling with it, too...
 19. Wow.. this thread is heavy going. Anyone fancy a cuppa? I'll pop the IEC on.
 20.
i must be stuck in 2004 then..whats wrong with enjoying something thats now, regardless of how its made..? just because someone makes music in a certain way doesnt mean its not good.. just me maybe..
That's fair enough. I'm just saying that, as a result of how it's made, I find it dull and linear. Always did. Each to their own, eh?
 21.
IMO, ok he is looping , but the guy is very good. and what a voice..
Oh, aye... I'd rather hear it with a band behind him. Once the novelty wears off (as it did in 2004 for me), I always find looped stuff to be dull and linear.
 22. Every time I see someone building tracks with a looper, I want to shake them by the lapels and scream 'It's not 2004 any more!!' Yeah, it's clever... but a band would do it better. IMO, of course.
 23.
Im sorry but was it me or as per usual, was every band bass player on the show tonight slinging a precision or a jazz WTF? Dont get me wrong, i love em but FFS whats that saying about every young bass player in a commercially successful band, sheep or what? Or does the "evil" empire of Leo have the industry's balls in a vice like grip of kudos and commercial nounce? - Discuss....
Maybe they just like them.
