  1. Aye, a ‘Get Back Greatest Hits’ edit would be pretty unrewarding, IMO.
  2. Jesus, Ringo looks bored.
  3. IME for the last 20 years or so, whenever there’s been a discussion about flats, someone has always piped up to say they’re a fad 😄
  4. I'd bump that bridge pup to one of the Maruszczyk humbuckers and chamber it. I'd also upgrade the tuners to Ultralites. Also, I politely asked Adrian if mine could have a standard Fender-style straight headstock with a string tree (no rake) and he obliged.
  5. Apologies for the slight OT-ness, but here's some shots I took while working on the doc. The executive producer was Geoff Wonfor (Beatles Anthology, the Tube, etc.), and the crew were absolutely top-notch. Contributor-wise, Sting and Elvis Costello were the first names on board, and the rest followed suit.
  6. Ah yes, that current new fad of flatwound strings. it'll soon blow over 😄
  7. Perhaps he felt comfortable enough in the company of those present to make those suggestions. He was asked to do a job by them - presumably they knew who they were hiring.
  8. More than the alcohol, junk, resentment, egos and interfering girlfriends?
  9. His raison d'etre was to make a film with a narrative that people would want to watch, so he's going to try and spice stuff up a bit. Let's not forget he managed to shoot hours of amazing footage & audio, of The Beatles being fairly candid, in a time before DSLRs, SD cards and LED lighting. Imbecile? No. He deserves a bloody medal.
  10. Yeah. The guy really isn't an imbecile.
  11. '...imbecile Lindsay-Hogg'? Really?
  12. I suspect he tried for the previous six years so so, and realised it was pointless.
  13. Subtitles, my friend. Subtitles.
  14. Cheers, Val. The response has continued to be fantastic, especially from people who were completely unaware of the band, or only knew to a couple of tunes. Striking the balance between catering for them, and (and I don't mean this disparagingly) the anoraks, and doing it within 60 minutes, was a hell of a challenge. But everyone seems happy. 🙂 I'm just glad it's been made - Alan & the band have been unfairly overlooked (not 100% Gazza's fault, but unfortunately he didn't help), and I reckon this is going to help redress the balance.
  15. Most powerful bit for me is McCartney's 'And then there were two...' as his eyes well up. He really wanted to keep the band together, didn't he?
  16. I can't agree. He's been a tool on occasion, but haven't we all?
  17. He writes some bloody good songs, tho.
  18. Cheers.. thank you! Slightly gutting to have to shoehorn hours of great footage into 60 minutes, but it's none the worse for it. And... 52m 48s 🙂
  19. Gentle nudge - 9pm, BBC Four (I even have a cameo role, but blink and you'll miss it). https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/m0011vbk
  20. Since OBBM jacked in, I use https://custom-lynx.co.uk.
  21. Sound crazy saying this, but it actually has a bit of a ‘Gone Fishing’ vibe in places, where you’re just eavesdropping in on conversation between old friends.
