  1. Currently watching it and loving it. So intimate, and the direction (both then and now) is beautiful.
  2. If I lived anywhere near *checks notes* Saffron Walden and liked maple P's, I'd be all over that like green on beans.
  3. Always fancied a US Lakland P. Chris Squire's was a beaut.
  4. I'm lucky, I guess. I'm only in bands with organised, switched-on people which formed without relying on adverts like this 😄
  5. Here's another trailer for the BBC Four documentary wot I had a hand in. It's on BBC Four tomorrow at 9pm!
  6. You'll be telling me Mick'n'Keef don't drive themselves to gigs next.
  7. What? Really? You learn something new every day.
  8. "Ah, hello Mr. Palladino. No, you didn't get the gig. You hit reply on the post, didn't you? You idiot."
  9. I'm certainly not offended, but it doesn't sound like an environment I'd want to be part of. If he'd changed the wording slightly, maybe I would.* *Again, the gig isn't for me anyway, so it's a moot point Weekend warrior or not, if you told me you've never mis-read something in a hurry, I'd suggest you were being economical with the truth.
  10. I think we can agree that - at best - the approach is polarising.
  11. I'm aware that people are human, yes.
  12. Well done, you! I think quite a lot of us here will have done that too.
  13. Thing is, it's not aimed at me 'cos I would have emailed the guy as he requested. But then the last paragraph, would put me right off. From what I can see: He's helping some of the applicants he's trying to filter out, by pointing out exactly what they need to do to pass the first test He's putting off some some of applicants he's trying to attract, because of his attitude. Remind me again how this is a good approach? 😄 Interesting discussion, tho.
  14. I still feel it's a pretty arbitrary 'first test' for potential applicants. You'd think their personality and playing skills would be more of a deciding factor.
  15. I can't help thinking there's a lot of reliable players wouldn't respond to the ad based on the last paragraph, which is a shame - for both him and them.
  16. That's literally all that would have been required. The rest of it was completely unnecessary (IMO).
  17. When? When I posted this thread about it?
  18. That's a lot of people in this thread having a bad day then, including me (who most definitely isn't).
  19. That's interesting. It instantly got my back up - not because I can't take instruction, but because it just sounds like a really d1ckish way make a point. But others aren't bothered by it. Different strokes, and all that.
  20. Stop having opinions, you. You'll bloody well do as you're told!
  21. That would be The Pedant's, would it not?
  22. That's a little bit sad... literally because people won't do as you tell them?
  23. I get that, but it's more the wording of the ad that I'm intrigued about.
  24. Just Googled him. Presumably this was a performance in a prison, and the audience weren't allowed out of their seats?
