  1. Picture the scene. You see a 'Bass player wanted' ad for a decent-looking gig on social media... but it has this at the end of it: Would you still apply? Just curious... (FWIW, I'm not interested in the gig)
  2. Gentle reminder... the docs I worked on is on this Friday, 9pm, BBC Four. We even made the Radio Times' pick list 🙂
  3. ‘I call it ‘Genemach’’.
  4. First run out at a dep last night, and it's everything I remembered.
  5. I like the way the bloke in the painting is copying your drummer's stance. First class trolling. Lovely venue, btw.
  6. Hey gang! Time for a change around, following the return of an old flame to my collection. Here's a beautiful, resonant 1971 Precision bass. Light weight (c. 8lbs 3oz), balances perfectly. Neck is straight and strong, with a B profile. What's not original: - Old refin over what seems to be factory black. - Wiring harness and pots are period-correct replacements by the legendary Dave Wilson - Pickguard is a repro What is original: Everything else! It has the usual amounts of scuffs and dings for a '71 - in particular, there's some significant lacquer discoloration along the underside of the neck. All of this is cosmetic - there's nothing structural. Comes with substantial non-original hard case and bridge / pickup covers. Inspection welcome - COLLECTION ONLY. \
  7. No UK support, but ping Leszek an email at [email protected] and see what he says. Hope you get sorted.
  8. Thank you - I shall find out tomorrow.. my first gig after serving 10 days time in Covid jail....
  9. Three '71s...
  10. What a fascinating thread this is. Thanks, Andy.
  11. Musiciams.
  12. There’a solos and solos. I’d quite happily listen to Geddy tear into the middle bit of Freewill. But someone noodling around all on their own? Nah.
  13. I don't listen to bass solos 'cos I find them boring, so I'm sure as hell not going to inflict one on the punters.
  14. Pedals? What is... pedals?
  15. More pics. You can really see how much the red has faded on the front compared to the back.
  16. Here's my trio of '71s.
  17. Lovely... and what an amp, too!
  18. It deserves a new audience, though.
  19. The Anthology is a work of art. It's a crime that it's not on Netflix etc.
  20. Same as mine (the one in the 'Reunited' thread). It's a fairly common occurrence.
  21. Well... there's a question. I suspect there's a cabinet reshuffle on the horizon.
  22. Flats 🙂
  23. Yeah, I'd agree with that - it's horses for courses. The bands I'm in generally have space in the mix for that rosewood 'bloom'. But then I have dep gigs where the maple would definitely be a better fit.
