  1. …and apparently Geddy was in-line for the bass gig (The parts are simple so he would have nailed it), but they wouldn’t let him use a rotisserie for backline.
  2. It wasn’t, but by posting it you become part of a discussion. If you don’t want to become part of that discussion, either don’t post, or don’t click the link when you receive a notification.
  3. When did having a passionate discussion about something we all love become frowned upon? Dear me.
  4. There’s no ganging up - you’re just in a minority. Nowt wrong with that, but it means you’ve got to work a little harder to change people’s minds.
  5. Lovely! Always liked the look of these…
  6. Yep, that’s what we’re trying to tell you…
  7. i was talking about him / her commanding the respect of the band.
  8. When did I say ceilidh drummers couldn't swing or drive things along? Never. That's when. TBH neither of those clips show either drummer in their best light.
  9. ..can I just point out that Neil's kit looks a little bit nervous on that YouTube thumbnail:
  10. ...I'd also suggest that 'Splitting hairs' at this level is the norm.
  11. I'm familiar with both of those clips. Neither of them are Stones tunes...?
  12. There's a point. Rutsey could have done it. But then NP was always sliding along on his coat-tails 😄
  13. It wasn't meant to be patronising. It's a pertinent point that I stand by.
  14. My argument is that NP could not play Stones tunes like Charlie. It's that simple. I appreciate you're a massive NP fanboi (as am I), but I don't believe he's the master of all genres. Music is more complicated than that.
  15. Where’s the ‘Can’t work out if being serious’ meme when you need it? 😄
  16. I’ll admit I was wrong… ‘cos I could think of something else to say 😄
  17. We could. You'd still be wrong at the end of it, though 😄
  18. He could play with Neil Peart feeling. That isn't Charlie Watts feeling.
  19. It is in the sense that is nuanced, and some people who think they have it... don't.
  20. We were talking about Neil Peart...? Let's not forget the drummer has to command the respect of Jagger, Richards and Wood whilst on stage. Something Ross McDonald from Ballachulish might struggle to achieve. ...never mind remembering not to hit the hat and snare at the same time.
  21. Freddie Gruber. As a result of which, NP switched to traditional grip for a bit, then got bored and reverted to matched. Still didn't swing.
