  1. HOLY CRAP I HAD NO IDEA
  2. I take my ACS15's out after a gig, and my hearing is like the Cadbury's Caramel bunny has been whispering sweet nothings into my ear for 90 minutes. It's still a novelty to me.
  3. I don't think he's using the custom moulds. An important distinction.
  4. Lookin’ good, Kev!
  5. Just watching it again, and realising even more how on-the-ball Lindsay-Hogg was. So much to thank him for.
  6. ACS custom moulds. Best things I ever bought.
  7. Well that's very kind, gents. My purple crushed velvet suit remains in the wardrobe for now...
  8. They’re Squires with a bit of upgraded hardware. His tech bought a couple in Newcastle for just over 100 each 😄
  9. Urgh. Bring back the black blocks and white guard, and knock 4K off the price.
  10. Bright-eyed and bushy-tailed, completely oblivious to the middle-aged mess of a man he was to become 🙂
  11. Wow.. your personal experiences are so similar to those of The Beatles it’s unreal.
  12. The guy on the left accidentally dropped his bass down the stairs, liked the sound of it, and the other fellas tried to copy him.
  13. HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA
  14. Great book. See also: Geoff Emerick's book.
  15. Cheers! It is Tynemouth station. Si was one of the contributors that didn't make the cut purely through lack of time. There were lots 😞 FWIW, my contribution to the doc was stills, drone footage, some of the interview footage and research / archives. All good fun.
  16. Not a huge amount. It's mainly the sound of the bass and the guy playing it.
  17. Aye, a ‘Get Back Greatest Hits’ edit would be pretty unrewarding, IMO.
  18. Jesus, Ringo looks bored.
  19. IME for the last 20 years or so, whenever there’s been a discussion about flats, someone has always piped up to say they’re a fad 😄
  20. I'd bump that bridge pup to one of the Maruszczyk humbuckers and chamber it. I'd also upgrade the tuners to Ultralites. Also, I politely asked Adrian if mine could have a standard Fender-style straight headstock with a string tree (no rake) and he obliged.
  21. Apologies for the slight OT-ness, but here's some shots I took while working on the doc. The executive producer was Geoff Wonfor (Beatles Anthology, the Tube, etc.), and the crew were absolutely top-notch. Contributor-wise, Sting and Elvis Costello were the first names on board, and the rest followed suit.
  22. Ah yes, that current new fad of flatwound strings. it'll soon blow over 😄
  23. Perhaps he felt comfortable enough in the company of those present to make those suggestions. He was asked to do a job by them - presumably they knew who they were hiring.
  24. More than the alcohol, junk, resentment, egos and interfering girlfriends?
  25. His raison d'etre was to make a film with a narrative that people would want to watch, so he's going to try and spice stuff up a bit. Let's not forget he managed to shoot hours of amazing footage & audio, of The Beatles being fairly candid, in a time before DSLRs, SD cards and LED lighting. Imbecile? No. He deserves a bloody medal.
