  1. First run out at a dep last night, and it's everything I remembered.
  2. I like the way the bloke in the painting is copying your drummer's stance. First class trolling. Lovely venue, btw.
  3. Hey gang! Time for a change around, following the return of an old flame to my collection. Here's a beautiful, resonant 1971 Precision bass. Light weight (c. 8lbs 3oz), balances perfectly. Neck is straight and strong, with a B profile. What's not original: - Old refin over what seems to be factory black. - Wiring harness and pots are period-correct replacements by the legendary Dave Wilson - Pickguard is a repro What is original: Everything else! It has the usual amounts of scuffs and dings for a '71 - in particular, there's some significant lacquer discoloration along the underside of the neck. All of this is cosmetic - there's nothing structural. Comes with substantial non-original hard case and bridge / pickup covers. Inspection welcome - COLLECTION ONLY. \
  4. No UK support, but ping Leszek an email at [email protected] and see what he says. Hope you get sorted.
  5. Thank you - I shall find out tomorrow.. my first gig after serving 10 days time in Covid jail....
  6. Three '71s...
  7. What a fascinating thread this is. Thanks, Andy.
  8. Musiciams.
  9. There’a solos and solos. I’d quite happily listen to Geddy tear into the middle bit of Freewill. But someone noodling around all on their own? Nah.
  10. I don't listen to bass solos 'cos I find them boring, so I'm sure as hell not going to inflict one on the punters.
  11. Pedals? What is... pedals?
  12. More pics. You can really see how much the red has faded on the front compared to the back.
  13. Here's my trio of '71s.
  14. Lovely... and what an amp, too!
  15. It deserves a new audience, though.
  16. The Anthology is a work of art. It's a crime that it's not on Netflix etc.
  17. Same as mine (the one in the 'Reunited' thread). It's a fairly common occurrence.
  18. Well... there's a question. I suspect there's a cabinet reshuffle on the horizon.
  19. Flats 🙂
  20. Yeah, I'd agree with that - it's horses for courses. The bands I'm in generally have space in the mix for that rosewood 'bloom'. But then I have dep gigs where the maple would definitely be a better fit.
  21. Not an A/B, and not well recorded enough to offer a scientific comparison, but here you go. FWIW, I think the maple-ness of the B&W '71 is noticeable.
  22. Honestly, my heart fluttered when I opened the case. I remember the day before the buyer was due to pick it up, I emailed him to tell him I was having massive regrets, and couldn't go through with it. He understood, but then I felt so bad about it I went through with the sale. I realised I've been searching to fill the gap ever since, and for him to have to good grace to offer it back to me when I put the shout out for an early 70s P on BC a couple of weeks ago was a bit of surprise. I didn't even know he was on BC - I thought it was gone for good. Here's a vid of us happy together back in the glory days when I had a little bit of hair...
  23. I've just put flats on it, but I'll sort it over the next day or so 🙂
  24. The red's faded - the red is resplendent on the back and under the pickguard. My '71 fretless has done the same. Not quite sure why some aren't affected. It's a strange one!
