  1. I still feel it's a pretty arbitrary 'first test' for potential applicants. You'd think their personality and playing skills would be more of a deciding factor.
  2. I can't help thinking there's a lot of reliable players wouldn't respond to the ad based on the last paragraph, which is a shame - for both him and them.
  3. That's literally all that would have been required. The rest of it was completely unnecessary (IMO).
  4. When? When I posted this thread about it?
  5. That's a lot of people in this thread having a bad day then, including me (who most definitely isn't).
  6. That's interesting. It instantly got my back up - not because I can't take instruction, but because it just sounds like a really d1ckish way make a point. But others aren't bothered by it. Different strokes, and all that.
  7. Stop having opinions, you. You'll bloody well do as you're told!
  8. That would be The Pedant's, would it not?
  9. That's a little bit sad... literally because people won't do as you tell them?
  10. I get that, but it's more the wording of the ad that I'm intrigued about.
  11. Just Googled him. Presumably this was a performance in a prison, and the audience weren't allowed out of their seats?
  12. Picture the scene. You see a 'Bass player wanted' ad for a decent-looking gig on social media... but it has this at the end of it: Would you still apply? Just curious... (FWIW, I'm not interested in the gig)
  13. Gentle reminder... the docs I worked on is on this Friday, 9pm, BBC Four. We even made the Radio Times' pick list ๐Ÿ™‚
  14. โ€˜I call it โ€˜Genemachโ€™โ€™.
  15. First run out at a dep last night, and it's everything I remembered.
  16. I like the way the bloke in the painting is copying your drummer's stance. First class trolling. Lovely venue, btw.
  17. Hey gang! Time for a change around, following the return of an old flame to my collection. Here's a beautiful, resonant 1971 Precision bass. Light weight (c. 8lbs 3oz), balances perfectly. Neck is straight and strong, with a B profile. What's not original: - Old refin over what seems to be factory black. - Wiring harness and pots are period-correct replacements by the legendary Dave Wilson - Pickguard is a repro What is original: Everything else! It has the usual amounts of scuffs and dings for a '71 - in particular, there's some significant lacquer discoloration along the underside of the neck. All of this is cosmetic - there's nothing structural. Comes with substantial non-original hard case and bridge / pickup covers. Inspection welcome - COLLECTION ONLY. \
  18. No UK support, but ping Leszek an email at [email protected] and see what he says. Hope you get sorted.
  19. Thank you - I shall find out tomorrow.. my first gig after serving 10 days time in Covid jail....
  20. Three '71s...
  21. What a fascinating thread this is. Thanks, Andy.
  22. Musiciams.
