  1. PM on the way…
  2. IMO - good singer, could have done a decent job on the album but the songs just weren’t any good.
  3. Derail mode ON A few years ago, my Dad, who knows nowt about trumpets, opened a case at a car boot sale. It contained an odd-looking trumpet. He thought it might be interesting, so paid the £15 asking price, took it home, made a few HONK noises with it, put it in the corner, and forgot about it. I spotted it one day, and decided to find out a bit about it. Eventually contacted a museum in London who confirmed it was a very rare Pace slide trumpet, and directed me to an expert - in fact, the chap who played the trumpet theme on Antiques Roadshow. He was performing in Newcastle a few months later, so we arranged to meet him. He took it out of the case, put it together and played something beautiful. He bought it on the spot. Derail mode OFF
  4. A couple of flaky phone clips from our set last night at The Lindisfarne Festival in north Northumberland. Big crowd, all well-oiled. What a hoot.
  5. Thanks, Dave. Pick is... the edge of my fingernail 🙂 I'm really happy with that bass... it sounds great with flats.
  6. Brace yourself.
  7. ...just watching The Last Domino? PBS special. Lots of set spoilers and rehearsal footage. It's an emotional and not entirely comfortable watch. Still looking forward to the gig, though.
  8. Interesting to read that Dave Swift is endorsing them without actually owning one...
  9. Here's a little clip from ours last night... apologies for my overly prominent baldy heed.
  10. This sounds like one of them solutions to a problem that doesn't exist 😄
  11. Second one in, and our first ticket do. Nice full room, felt just like old times. Band still isn't 100% match fit yet, but we'll get there. Next up - festival tonight in North Northumberland.
  12. Hmmm… Creatively, Nash was always the junior partner. And after reading his autobiog, it’s clear he has a massive chip on his shoulder because of it. But… they’re all flawed people. They’ve all been tosspots at various times through their career.
  13. I dunno.. live, maybe. But he’s not on the first album, and his contributions to Deja Vu are limited. The latter two CSNY studio albums are largely execrable.
  14. My favourite CSNY moment. Four voices, four guitars, nowt else. So pure. And, unbelievably, it's a Nash tune.
  15. Assuming you don't do Spotify, this is a lazy answer but this would be a good starting place: Truth is, if you get the bug it's a bit of a rabbit hole as there's loads of great stuff in both the CSN(Y) and solo catalogues. And plenty of crap (mainly by Nash).
  16. Fine for me too. I suspect the issue is at @deepbass5's end.
  17. Finally... first gig tonight, almost a year to the day since the last one, and 17 months since the one before that. It was a wedding in a village hall in the hills south of Hexham. What a joy. Bar a few scratchy pots, the gear was spot-on, and the 71 P-bass I bought (what seems....) a lifetime ago finally got a run out. To my relief, it's seems to be a great one. I've got nine more gigs over the next month or so with various bands... it's wonderful to be back at it.
  18. To the OP: Yes. Lots of times 😄
  19. Lee Pomeroy - also seen with Take That, Steve Hackett, YES/ARW... amazing player.
  20. I like Ringo’s part on A Day In the Life - the song is off-the-wall, and it helps with the vibe. The fills are memorable. Let It Be’s just a mess. It’s like a rehearsal part where he tries something daft every few bars.
  21. TBH I think your mate is wrong, but that particular drum part is a stinker 50% of the time.
  22. True. But you can remix it.
  23. ...that said, I've always hated the drum part. Sorry, Ringo.
  24. 'Weak'. LOLz I think it's a great song (It's Let it Be, FFS) and I like the remix. If you like it, listen to it. If you don't, the old mix is still available.
