  1. Powderfinger has too many notes 😄
  2. Cinnamon Girl should be #1, and it’s not even in the list.
  3. String holders...?
  4. ...mind, he could have stopped and retuned on Bandit. Dear me.
  5. I’m currently listening to the Greendale live show that’s just landed on Spotify. It’s gloriously rich, with loads of space to breathe. It’s talking to my heart more than my head, which is how I like it.
  6. No, it’s a very late TV-headstock.
  7. A post to criticise critics for criticising, you say?
  8. Listen to the early live recordings of DSoTM - nothing wrong with Roger’s performance there.
  9. Vocoder - right first time. A lot of the 'Computer' songs are borne of trying to communicate with his son, who had / has cerebal palsy. Computer Cowboy is my favourite. It's mint.
  10. Just wait 'till the next tune 😄 Trans is two halves of two very different albums shoved together. The album artwork nails what the record is about on so many levels...
  11. Isn't this the part where you randomly post stuff you believe to be superior?
  12. Canterbury in New South Wales, then..?
  13. This kind-of lists usually don't include live albums...?
  14. Arc... #31? Le Noise.. #14? LOL Nice to see a bit of daylight between Trans and the bottom of the list. I really like that record. Old Ways has Misfits on it. For that reason it should be above the likes of Storytone and A Letter Home, etc.
  15. The wonderful Michael Marra.
  16. If I felt that way, I would be covert too.
  17. He's going to have to go some to reach these dizzy heights once more:
  18. I've said too much 😄
  19. "You're so... wait - who are you again?"
  20. But... what about songs about specific bass players?
  21. Oooh... yes, I think you're right. She deffo wrote a tune about him but I can't remember what it is...!
  22. The Paul Carrack / How Long thread, (a song about how the bass player has been tomming around with another band) got me thinking... What other songs are about specific bass players? (Not generic bass players. That's boring.) I can think of: You Make Loving Fun - Fleetwood Mac How Do You Sleep? - John Lennon Clyde - JJ Cale Blue Murder - Alan Hull Any others?
  23. I've got a loan of a pal's '75 at the moment, and it's absolutely lush. It's hard to describe - the body feels alive when you play it. Here's a little demo I made which doesn't really convey that feeling, but... y'know.
