  1. Speaking of the Rabin years, did I ever mention the time I did this? Of course I did.
  2. I suggested this to Chris right at the top of the thread... have a look back through for his thoughts.
  3. Theoretically I should love Marillion. I do like some of it, but... what is it with them and their choice of drummers? Terrible. IMO.
  4. As Neil Peart once said: ‘Different hearts beat on different strings...’
  5. Re: Post-Relayer Yes and post-Gabriel Genesis, How can you personally prefer something if you haven’t heard the alternative...? You’re missing some iconic music there...
  6. Yeah. They were never the same after they started assembling riffs in ProTools rather than writing songs.
  7. Not unusual, given the amount of poly they slapped on the maple. The headstock is correctly aged nitro. The tuners are right, the guard might be a change. The nut is a replacement. The rest looks good.
  8. I never quite got the ‘Back on form’ comments around CA. IMO it’s on a par with the last few albums, i.e. mediocre. And the terrible lyrics of The Wreckers loses it a few more points.
  9. Looks good to me, pickups and knobs aside. Shame it's collection only.
  10. If you can find an original Ibanez Promethean, I doubt you'll find anything better for the size.
  11. I've noticed that too - part of me thinks / hopes it's a sign that more people love music than I think, but they're just not as vocal about it as me.
  12. I use my mouse, trackpad, or a swipe motion to scroll past stuff I'm not interested in. There's probably a tutorial on YouTube to show you how to do it.
  13. Nice to see that Chris & the host (who I've just realised is Bob Birch) clearly had a nice early night in preparation for a day's work on the video.
  14. You misunderstand me.. IMO, not listening to the lyrics is key to the enjoyment of Yes.
  15. I believe this is key to the enjoyment of Yes.
  16. Darryl must be on a £700 kick-back from each one.
  17. I'm still amazed that a bass built on a production line in Indonesia can cost 1200 quid.
  18. Actually, I reckon the ARW live album is a pretty good place to start too.
  19. ...most of it. I think Tempus Fugit was the Electra MPC.
  20. He certainly isn’t. It’s like he’s wearing boxing gloves half the time. Part of the reason I suggested Drama to Chris is because - as well as it being a good record - it’s a little more direct than the classic stuff, with less flowers and faeries. It’s maybe an easier way in. The Fly From Here suite is lovely. For more latter-day stuff, Homeworld and Magnification are fab (IMO).
