  1. Yes, but in Europe we still slop out into the street, and eat from bins. Apparently.
  2. Well, I took the plunge. £85-ish for seats on the floor at Newcastle, next to FOH.
  3. Sean's a great player, currently touring with Squeeze. I like this. What a tone.
  4. I don’t think Viagogo are an official vendor, are they..?
  5. Calling All Stations. Forgettable effort with Ray Wilson fronting the band.
  6. Not many people’s cup of tea, to be fair. The comments on this thread make for great market research, which they can choose to learn from, or ignore.
  7. That’s really odd. I’ve found him light on polite chat, but helpful and to-the-point. I’ve also had the same experience with a certain Polish amp builder, which others have struggled with.
  8. Jesus. £70-£180 for tickets at Newcastle. Do they not know we're poor up here?
  9. I'm really tempted to go for something charcoal frost-ish. Anyone out there got an M in this colour...?
  10. ...also, he probably has a bloody good ear for a catchy bass part. Theory is no good if you don’t know how to use it.
  11. Phew. Just had a panic. Initial reports were Newcastle Arena, Dec 11 & 12. I have a gig on 11, so 12 it is. Then the Prog interview says Dec 11th only. NOOOO!!!! So then I check LiveNation, and it's November 26th. Phew.
  12. Ha ha 'GET OFF MY STAGE, RUTHERFORD!' In other news, from an interview with Prog magazine that's just gone up... Banks: “Nic is a great drummer, but he is capable of sounding like early Phil. For Mike and I, that was always quite exciting. It means you can play some of the songs that you haven't played with Phil as the drummer for a long time. We’re playing old material, but there’ll be some new old material this time. Songs we didn’t play last time.” GAN ON!
  13. Blood on the Rooftops has to be in there (with apologies to Steve H.)
  14. It does. Mind, he's just apologised for it and said he's been ill. It sounds like they've at least had a dip-a-toe-in-the-water rehearsal, which is heartening.
  15. IMO, Genesis are about songs as much as performance. Provided Phil can pretty much navigate his way around the melodies, that’ll be good enough for me.
  16. I'm not going to argue with you on that, but like I say... it ain't new.
  17. The problem with musicians is... that's all they know how to do. While some are happy to quietly disappear (Bill Bruford), some crack on despite not being able to sing (Geddy, McCartney). It must be hard to walk away from your identity, even if you have enough money to buy a small country.
  18. Yes, Neil Young is more animated. But he has the advantage of being able to walk.
