  1. Tony Levin trivia? I once saw him sitting on a park bench in Whitley Bay, feeding chips to seagulls whilst singing Calendar Girl in a Jamaican accent. He was wearing one of those ties with a piano keyboard design on it.
  2. Heh. Everything about dots, binding and matching headstock screams 'Ovals!' IMO, obv. πŸ™‚
  3. That's exactly right. You can now press the buy button πŸ™‚
  4. That is beautiful but it needs oval tuners, my good man.
  5. Thank you - that's very comprehensive. I'm rarely (never?) in situations where I needs to improvise over tricky progressions, so I'm probably just not the target audience.
  6. I cut slots in the sponge for the strings to sit in. It stops the intonation going t'pot.
  7. Does it make the noise without your bass cable being plugged in?
  8. Well, there's 115 pages of info for you to read through here πŸ™‚
  9. The tone on DSoT is great, but (IMO!) wrong for Floyd. Evidently Dave G. agreed...
  10. Also, open truss rod access at the headstock on a Fender-style bass screams 'low quality!' to me. ...which I appreciate is odd, 'cos it's the more practical approach. I like to see nothing there, or a nice plug to fill the hole.
  11. Markbass.
  12. Lakland flats, I think?
  13. Thanks for the inspiration...
  14. Beautiful! Thanks for the tag...
  15. You’re not wrong. Happy to report I got it mostly right, thank goodness.
  16. He's started to do little blog thingies... here's the first.
  17. But... but... it was just a rush job for NAMM 😚
  18. Thanks for sharing - I really like his style. Here's a general question, which I hope doesn't derail the thread too much. At the end of the clip he talks about the circle of fifths. Since the first time I had this explained to me (about 25 years ago, by a music teacher friend, who thought it would change my life), I've literally failed to see what practical purpose I'd use it for. I'm clearly missing something - can someone put me out of my misery?
  19. ....and the thought of reading it cold blows my mind. I don't know how anyone could do that. Amazing.
  20. Thank you. To be fair, I'm probably playing it wrong πŸ˜„
  21. I finally did it! Intense boredom forced me to work out the Sir Duke run. I know it's not a big deal, but I'm a R,5,R,5 guy and this has more notes in it than I would normally play in a month. My upper frets are still in shock.
  22. Oh, apologies. I thought it was still opposite day.
  23. Nice review! I'd really like one of those, but they all seem to be filled with lead 😞
