  1. Loads of threads on this previously, all pretty much the same, and as you’d expect there’s no definitive answer. Try a search.
  2. I'm assuming these are from my old (very lovely) Jake. If that's the case, it's worth pointing out that the J pickup is split-coil, so it's hum-cancelling. Great pickups. GLWTS...
  3. Hmm.. I can see where you're coming from, but I'd be against a blanket ban on critiquing anyone's performance via Basschat. Where would it end? That said, anything personal should be reported and will be dealt with...
  4. It's a fine line, but I think if you post a vid of yourself doing stuff on the internet, you have to accept a bit of discussion on the content of it.
  5. By all means mock (or praise) anything he offers for sale which you feel is worth mocking (or praising). As long as it's not personal, it's fine. If any personal comments are posted, please use the report button. Thank you.
  6. Yes - click EUR at the top-left and change it to GBP.
  7. Ooh.. like the idea, but I'm not a fan of the headstock. I like 'em a bit more defined.
  8. It's the American way. They probably think we're odd for saying 'Based in'...
  9. He' just having a bit of fun. And it's got 400,000 views, so he wins.
  10. Ha... glad I didn't send you down the £££ route 😄 The WA is a beautiful amp.
  11. It was a figure of speech to emphasise how bl**dy expensive it was.
  12. Remortgaging the house to buy a brand new Mesa MPulse 600, only to sell it six months later for about 1/3 of what I paid.
  13. Don't stress about raising your ISO. Better noisy than blurred movement. Be brutal with your final selection. 5 killer shots is better than 5 killer shots and 15 'meh' shots.
  14. ..a very good sound & light engineer, too :-) Nice to see you here, Matty...
  15. OK. Maybe pop an email to their complaints department..?
  16. On the surface of it I'd agree, but I'd be tempted to suggest UPS have a better view of the logistics involved than the likes of us :-)
  17. I can probably count on one hand the amount of times I've genuinely thought 'I wish I was at home with a takeaway watching the telly'. I don't rely on the cash. It's handy, but I'd genuinely do it just for the crack.
  18. A month down the line and it's in with a bullet at #1, and stayed there. It's gorgeous. Here's a clip from this afternoon...
  19. I believe George disliked the part - he thought it was too busy. I agree with him, but many (most?) don't....
  20. Ha ha.. I hate it. It's such a polarising bass part...!
  21. A palm-muted P with flats will sound great. Anything other than an upright is basically sacrilege, so there's no point bothering with an acoustic bass 'cos it won't get you any additional credibility points and won't give you any tonal advantage.
