1. Bird lives by Ross Russell, great bio of Charlie Parker.
2. My mate, who was born in UK but has played and made his life in Germany for many years, told me he had made a violin body from a solid piece of wood and met Mr Pangborn who made a beautiful neck for it, this was some years ago and he also told me that Ashley unfortunately suffered ill health soon after and he lost track of him.
3. I have a Bronco and love it, they can be upgraded quite easily, the tuners are a bit suspect but since I restrung and did a wee setup it has faithfully stayed in tune, cheap as chips as well.
4. Band were good, AA not my taste but all credit to him for bouncing back after aforementioned unfortunate problems.
5. D'Addario chromes are very zingy and bright for flats and feel great, only prob I had with them was high tension when fitted to a p-bass, changed them on to a peavey bass and the problem went.
6. Anything by Gary Glitter.
7. Hi I have a pair of TDL RTL3's and a set of RTL 1's sitting doing nothing since I moved on to Tannoy dual concentrics, only prob is i'm in Dundee, lovely speakers though. Regards Jim

14. Hi There is a Bob Babbitt technique vid on here somewhere, and he also stresses that a light touch is beneficial, he also advocates the use of strengthening aids (rubber ball to squeeze) and exercises. Regards Jim
15. Well spotted you, and so glad you have been reacquainted with an old friend. Regards Jim
16. I had a similar experience recently with string suitability for certain basses, I bought a set of D'addario chrome flats and fitted them to a Squier precision, just couldn't get them to a set up I was happy with. Swapped a set of lighter rounds from a Peavey millenium which I wasn't too keen on either, result on both basses was very pleasing, the Peavey was able to be set up with a much lower action with the chromes and the Squier benefitted with more pliable strings (the tension with the chromes was too much for me, ouch!). Regards Jim
17. I went to the Royal concert hall last year to see Zappa plays Zappa, and was really impressed with the sound, great venue, should be the ideal place to enjoy the Flecktones. Tickets now booked as well, and It's something to look forward to after the festering season is over . Regards Jim
18. Many thanks for the heads up, and It's the original line up as well, yippee!!!
19. Hi I saw Trombone shorty support Jeff Beck on his last tour, great player and band, good to see them get some TV time. Regards Jim
20. Hi For a different experience try the album Caron Ecay Lockwood, no drums, effectively a string trio, some fantastic bass playing and a lovely album just to listen to. Loads of stuff on Spotify as well. Saw him recently with Mike Stern and Didier Lockwood, stunning concert in all respects. Regards Jim
21. Yes, more photo's please.
