1. WarPig, you have PM.
  2. Line 6 FM4 Filter Modeler = SOLD= This is a pedal I've had for a while and apart from home use and a few trips out to band practice it hasn't had that much use. It has a small battle scar on the front of the unit but other than that it's in tip top condition. It has a total of 16 different filter and synth effects which can be tailored to your liking. Quite a versatile pedal, I've spent hours playing with it trying to recreate the soundtrack from Blade Runner.
Offering an awesome collection of vintage filter and monophonic synth effects, 24-bit processing, and true bypass, the FM4 features 16 models of classic and collectible filters and synths. With four programmable presets, the FM4 gives guitarists easy access to a set of world-class tones and controls for customization.
Anyway, all the info you could want is on the Line 6 website here and there's a photo below for good measure. Comes in its box with manual and power supply. Seem to be around the £220/£230 mark new so it's yours for £130 posted - SOLD. Trade wise I may be tempted by boutique pedals or a pedaltrain jr or pedaltrain 2 with money either way if needed. I'm in Sussex if you want to collect (close to Horsham). PM me or leave a comment below if you want more info. Cheers
  3. Of all the Shukers on Basschat, that black jazz is my favourite. It looks so sick. I bet it plays just as well.
  4. £45's a bit of a steal
  5.

Anyone in the UK tell me where the best place is to get a Prunes and Custard from?
  6. Great bass I sold my 2 band stingray and regretted it so much. When I had the opportunity to buy it back a couple of months later I did. Such a fantastic tone. Is that strung through the body? When did they stop doing that, anyone know?
  7.
Right, but why is anyone using a wah on bass without a blender?? Surely the whole idea of a wah is that you loose low end when your foot's all the way down?
Am I Naïve in thinking wah is just an eq sweep?
Best place I can recommend is DIYstompboxes dot com and General Guitar Gadgets, these sites are a wealth of info on effects pedals, techniques, supplies, theory and contain active forums where you can ask like minded geeks who are keen to help assimilate you into their world. Check out Beavis Audio Research as well - great site with some interesting projects http://www.beavisaudio.com/techpages/

another really good site is freestompboxes.org
Thanks for the links guys.
  9.
How much are they new? I got mine for £100 used at a music shop in stoke EDIT: I use mine blended though so there may be some low end loss
From what I've seen they're around the £200+ mark. If I can find one second hand a little bit cheaper then I will get it.
  10.
Has anyone else ever used a Zvex Wah Probe on bass? I do and it's amazing.
I've always wanted to try one on bass but it would be an expensive experiemnt. I may give it a go now it's had a recomendation. Really bloody expensive though.

I'd love to build my own pedal to learn a bit more about electronics. Can anyone point me in the right direction of online resources?
  12. I've said it before and I'll say it again. Kings of Leon songs always go down well. Singles from the latest album. Although they are very simple so you may not go for them.
  13. Sansamp BDDI, Animato and Phase 90 will do 95% of what I like. Having said that, I do like to plug a good bass straight into the amp at the moment.
  14.
Picture is a little small....
I'd love to have a go on this. Note to self: Must buy more delay pedals.
  15.
Absolutely ludicrous. Where will it end? Relic'ed plectrums (sorry plectra) and guitar straps, relic'ed cables .....
I'm pretty sure I saw relic straps a few years ago in Andertons.
  16. Most Kings of leon songs have very simple bass lines..... Fans springs to mind as being the most obvious.
  17. From the topic header I actually thought you were posting from Everest for a minute there! How silly? Congrats on the audition. I had a look at the myspace as well when the ad was posted last week and decided that the music wasn't quite my cup of tea. The cello player looks quite pretty though.
  18.
Probably not a good idea in a Punk originals band.
Good point, best to leave that one out.
  19.
I'd have thought the lottery comment is more relevant to the chance of becoming a rockstar. I can't see why with talent and hard work you couldn't make a career as a pro musician. Alex
Yeah, I was thinking of a life of excess in a large band. Sorry if I offended anyone.
  20. Here's my advice: Stay in school Don't take drugs Get lots of practice in Play lots of gigs Eat lots of cheese Realise that you have a better chance of winning the lottery then 'making it' as a pro musician.
  21.
Is it wound to the bottom of the peg?
This solves all my A string buzzing.

  23.
Just wondered if anyone can recommend any sure-fire Motown stuff?
Anything that charted. Have a look back through this thread, there are quite a few Motown / Stax / Atlantic suggestions.
  24.
Do people really get on the floor for KOL? I thought people would just get depressed and leave.
I was as surprised as you. Give it a shot, all their songs are ridiculously simple.
