1. I just picked up a new one, and whilst it plays great, I cannot lower the G string any more to my desired action. The saddle is as low as it goes and action is still a little high for me. The truss rod/neck is set up nicely. If you have one I'd like to know if you have limited saddle adjustment on the G. Cheers
2. TC are probably the only make I haven't tried. I bought an old LH500 for 50 quid and left at rehearsal room. Its been fine. Glad you are sorted.!
3. Thanks. I need an 8 ohm. Plus I am in Canada! I put two new ones in.
4. I acquired an SWR Goliath III for the princely sum of $0! It has a driver missing and the guy said he wasn't sure if the remaining 10" driver or horn was any good. Turns out they are! Anyway, I understand I can't get an original PAS driver any more. Would there be a good Eminence alternative? The cab is 4 ohm, so I need an 8. Cheers, Ian
5. I would sand it smooth and re-finish back of neck. then keep an eye on it for further movement.
6. According to some reviews I have read they seem to be underpowered, despite the claimed power.
7. Hi Owen! Canada is great thanks. I even own a Stetson!
8. Deksawyer, not too late to get a custom Jazz!
9. Raggy, I made the case for the amp and rolled on Duratex. Did same for cabs
10. I used the 3012HO in both my Jack 12's. Sound brilliant!
11. I probably should have posted this in gear porn
12. Hey, its been a very long while since I was active here. I took a long hiatus from bass playing since moving to Canada, but I am now back into it, in a band, and also back making basses. Life is good! Anyway, it has been fun shopping for bass gear again and after trying lots of amps I still prefer GK over anything else. Speakers - tried lots, and initially I though I ought to get GK so I can use the bi-amp. But a bass amp with a 6k crossover is next to useless! So I decided to make a pair of BFM Jack 12 speakers. They have 2k crossovers and BGH-25 horns. Tricky to make, but worth the effort! Couldn't resist painting the grilles!! 13. Best to look at pics on their website...http://www.epifani.com/products/UL_902C.php Price 1500 pounds. Thanks!
14. Aha a price would help! Thanks for pointing that out. I will take some pics tonight and get them added.
15. Drastic, I know, but I am retiring from playing live and focusing on building. So, my UL-902C has to be sold. It is totally mint, and has been in a soft rack case from day one. Includes footswitch. Absolutely no issues. Tons of power and headroom. Originally purchased from The Gallery, but now resides with me in Canada. I am visiting the UK at the end of March and if someone definitely wants it, and is happy to pay a deposit, I will bring across. Sensible offers please. Cheers Ian
16.
Mmm, I bet you wear very comfortable shoes.
Ha ha! Yes I do, thanks for enquiring.
17. I reckon a lot of the sounds will have subtle differences and in a live situation you won't hear the differences between a lot of them. I bet you could count the number of decent tones you can get out of it on one hand. Another post-NAMM gimmick!
18. Oh no not more warwick blandness
19. I can't speak for the 75 RI, but I had quality problems with my imported Deluxe QMT 5-string. Poor neck pocket, ill fitting rear control cover, screw missing from one tuner, pickups too low and couldn't be raised (had to take out and pack beneath). I can say that in comparison the Crafted in Japan ones are perfect. I bought two and they had US pickups and hardware, but fit and finish was spot on. You should try get a CIJ one.
20. I don't think you can compare anything to Behringer to be honest! I used to have the non-neo 411 and 115 and apart from the HF horn blowing the first time I tried it I found them to be as good as anything else I've owned. I only sold them because they weighed a ton. And IIRC there was no fuse for the horn, so you may want to check the neos out for that.
21. You need the XST not the XLT, in my opinion. They go deeper, and the cabs have higher power handling. I have a 210XST and use it beneath my Epi 212 to reinforce the low end!
22. Didn't they used to do a 600w Landmark? I'd be tempted if they did a 600w version of the VT
