1.
Thats STUNNING! How often do you get figured wood like that (hmmm, sounds dirtier than I'd imagined!)? I'm gonna be looking to build a jazzer 5string with a striking grain, hopefully I'll be another satisfied customer!
Thanks! This bookmatched top is 20mm thick. Usually they are about 6 to 8mm. I was tempted to hang on to this one, but I keep finding other nice pieces of wood!
2.
just out of interest, do you make these yourself?
Yes I make them myself. I love the Jazz bass shape! Still as popular as ever.
3. price drop £40 the lot. Make a nice 5.3 or 2.6 ohm 450w 3x10" cab
4.
He means that he will route the cavitys out for whatever you need. I think lol
Exactly that. The price includes routing a neck pocket to suit your neck, pickup routes and control cavity. I can pre-drill for the bridge. I'd need all the parts to ensure accuracy. Cheers Ian
5. I've got two Celestion 150w Sidewinder 8 ohm speakers in a carpet covered, steel grilled home made cab, metal sprung handles, plastic corners £20 the lot. I'd prefer collection. Cheers Ian
6.
Arrrgh, I want this one even more! No money til end of september
Sorry!! But you'll want the burl one EVEN more! Just posted another.
7. Jazz body with lovely thick maple burl bookmatched top over brazilian mahogany rear. Routed to your neck/pickup/cavity requirements. £160 inc delivery.
8. I heard one at the Gallery played thru Laneys 8 x 10 and I have to say it sounded very average. It just didn't do it for me. But at least it turned on without blowing anything!
9. Hi, It's coming back to me now. I'm getting this bass confused with a recently sold custom with Wizards. However, this one I sold the neck, body and pickups. I didn't assemble the bass. I see what you mean about the bridge. Cheers Ian
10. Sorry to hear you encountered problems with the bass. I'm not sure I agree with you about the bridge being in the wrong position. I've got numerous close-up pics of the bass before Shaggy bought it. The countersunk neck ferrules are meant to come out. You don't need to glue or force them in. They were a perfect fit (got pics of the originals!). I can't comment why the neck started to play up. It was a stock Might Mite neck that just got a lacquering. It all adjusted ok when it was assembled. Nice looking bass though! Chop
11. Jazz body, brazilian mahogany with quarter inch watery-flamey maple bookmatched top. Routed out for a 5-string neck, which is a bit narrower than say a mightymite neck, so it could be widened to accommodate. £145 inc postage and all routing. Cheers Ian
12. Jazz shaped body with thick spalted maple top over brazilian mahogany rear. I'll route it to suit your pickups & neck, and also if you want front or rear control cavity. £145 inc delivery. Cheers Ian
13.
Id love the flame one, what bass parts you sfter, anything in particular? Ive got a couple of bridges, pickgaurds and a couple of washburn necks? Let me know if anything takes your fancy. Cheers Dave
I think I'd only want to trade for some decent pickups. Thanks Dave.
14.
I am strongly thinking of getting a 4ohm DB212
Why lug around a 212 when two 112's will sound just as good!
15. I've got three DB112's (in green!) and they sound great. Never compared with the GS range though. I just liked the retro look. Because they don't use Neo drivers they are heavier than other makes, but I think that is why they sound so good. Never got on with Neo stuff.
16.
Cheers for the suggestions guys, a trip to Mark's and The Gallery is in order this week me thinks. Love the look of the tweed and the chocolate aggies, and they're much cheaper than the others.
I've got three of the green DB112 cabs. Am I the only one to get green ones?!! Great little cabs, and fuller sounding than neo cabs in my opinion.
17. Hi all, A change of PA meant this is now redundant. We had two 2u poweramps, a 1u crossover, 1u FX and 1u blanking plate, plus the mixer on top mounted on a tilting ratchet that can be angles to suit. The top was removed for the photo. Its a bit bulky in size, so collection only please. Dunno what it's worth though, say £40 ono? Cheers Ian
18.
i wish i had the money. any trade offers considered? ben
Could be! I'm always tempted. Particularly bass parts.
19. Hi, I've been asked by my timber supplier if I can sell these two bodies for him. He doesn't want me to mention the luthier, but lets just say he is well know on this forum. They are both mahogany, but one in capped with a nice flame maple. Routed for a standard Precision pickup, but the neck will need to be made to fit. Rear routing with loads of room for whatever circuit you wish to fit. Side mounted jack hole, which looks quite big, so you may need a jack plate, or maybe flatten the body a bit and put a locking Neutrik type in. The only downside is that they are both quite heavy. £100 each plus £10 postage, or best offer!! Thanks Ian
