1.
Im confused, are ishi no longer importing?, i only just got a bass from them like a month ago?
My first reply from Jeff said yes they are still exporting, and a matter of days later he said sorry they aren't any more. I did double check and as far as my enquiry is concerned, its a non starter. No worries, as Malcolm at Guitar Emporium sorted me out. I'm really happy with the deal. Recommended.
2.
Oooo! What have you ordered?
Hi, I'm waiting on a JB75-100US and PB62-60. Both 3-tone sunburst! Can't wait.
3.
Nath, do you reckon this means our awesome Fender Japan's will now skyrocket in value?? I hope so
The Jap Fender have just come down in price. I've just done a cracking deal for two at the guitar emporium. The price worked out the same as importing direct from Itchyscratchi.
4. I had one for a month! Did one gig with it and swapped it for a Mesa Titan V12. This will sell easily at that price.
5. I just contacted Itchyscratchi about exactly the same question, and they won't even ship accessories to UK now. I've just bought two CIJs from the guitar emporium, and his advice was to get MIA scratchplate. Just found a tort Fender one on ebay! I'm sure WD or Allparts do decent ones.
6. Check out the new Ashdown Little Giant. 350w £225. A bit over your budget, but seems good VFM
7. Its only £325!! And thats the 1000w head. Not bad value IMO.
8.
£2 postage, but pick-up only? That's generous... looks alright though - just very badly listed and with too few photos
The way is listed it sounds like he is selling the 'pickup only' , not the bass!!
9. Agreed, that KSD has Celinder arranged controls (just like Zapps!)
10. Interesting jap Jazz... http://www.ikebe-gakki.com/goods_detail.php?g_id=81254
11. Here it is back in its sleeve. Its a bit wider than the cabs which looks poo, but the sound makes up for it!!
12. I'll put together a review after its used in anger. The footswitch controls.... Switches between two inputs (you could have an active and a passive bass, or a bass & a keyboard) Switches between channel 1 & channel 2 Switches on/off the overdrive for the channel you are on. Switches on/off the solo (another knob next to the master governs how much over the master vol you wann go) And a mute Can't wait to use it! I'll let you know what I think. It better be good as it cost enough!
13. It says its an 8 stage all valve preamp with 22 custom mosfets at the output stage. It is two Big Block 750 preamps, but has more power. Its 1400w into 2-ohms, 1200w into 4, and 840 into 8. I've yet to try it at a gig, but it sounds promising played at home. I don't know where you'd begin offering sound clips, as you can get pretty much any sound you like. Plus I wouldn't know how to record and save digitally! Its now gone back in the huge mesa sleeve, as the mounting holes didn't line up with those in the Aguilar (pro-tec) rack case. I thought all rack stuff has standard mountings!
14. Oh I meant to say, if you buy from The Gallery, Martin will pre-solder everything for you, if you ask nicely!
15. I installed one in the bass I built for our Zapp. You have to double check some of the colours on the wires coz they look similar. Also, you need to buy a couple of 1-meg resistors to solder to the mid-switch to lessed the pop that you get whilst switching. Why they don't include these I don't know. Apart from that, its simple. A great preamp aswell. Although watch the bass boost - you don't need much!
16. I had to take it out of the huge sleeve it came in as it made my cabs look tiny!
17. Maybe mine was faulty? Dunno. Perhaps its my bass! You have got some cool ones - might have something to do with it! Anyway just swapped it for a Mesa Boogie Titan V12. Its got the low end grunt of the DB plus tons of clarity.
18. I just returned my DB750 to the Gallery for this! I used the DB twice and just wasn't happy with the woolly sound and lack of clarity. I guess I just preferred my GK1001. Anyway, still got the GK, but wanted a high power head to replace the Aguilar. It had to go down to 2-ohms as I have three DB112 cabs totalling 2.6ohms. The Mesa fits the bill, and what a sound! Its like the DB750 but with some clarity thrown in. Plus two identical footswitchable channels and overdrive makes this extremely versatile. Recommended! Are there any other MB users out there?
19.
Sorry only noticed this when it came back top. RE DB750: Fan noise -1 Fat tone +1000!!! I'll keep you in mind Russ!
Sounds like you like the tone from your DB750. Mine.... Fan noise -1 Clarity -10 Fat bass heavy tone +10 Versatility -10 Going back to shop +1000
20.
So where does definitely ship Japanese fender goodies to the UK? I quite liked the look of www.rockinn.co.jp, but their banner states "sorry, we can only accept orders from Japan only". I need a white Japanese jazz bass real badly!
I had it confirmed yesterday by Jeff at Ishibashi that they no longer ship to UK. That goes for accessories aswell. I just placed my order with Malcolm at the guitar emporium, and I'm glad I did. There is a price reduction on the Jap range, plus I also negotiated the price down a bit more.
21. Great basses. Its usually better to suggest a price. You'd probably get more response.
22. I'm using three DB112's (similar to the GS's) with a DB750 head. I guess one on its own will have its limitations, but certainly three will blow away a 4x10!! I'd suggest you go for two, funds permitting.
23.
PM'd
Replied to.
