Chopthebass replied to Chopthebass's topic in Amps and Cabs For Sale
Have a bump from a fellow user - great heads Chop
Thanks Homer. It is the best head I have used to date. I'm selling coz that's what us bass players on BW do quite frequently!! I'm getting GAS for a DB750. Need a sale soon to finance my Schroeder 210212 cab that's on order. -
Just out of curiosity ,could you ponit me at the feature page ? I did never see a model with 700+75W , always 700+50W,even on product page. Blame i'm italian ,i would like to try one ,i bet i could fall in true love with it .
Yes you are right. I don't know where I got 75w from! It is 700w + 50w for the HF horn. Thanks for spotting the mistake. Ian -
I would not be bovvered - you are getting a new UK spec amp that is also covered by the sale of goods act, the original waranty and the Gallery's reputation.
I understand what you're saying, but it's the inconvenience of being without an amp, and couriering it back and forth. The Gallery are great, and I love buying from Alex, so I will have a look for alternatives. There have been too many occurances of this problem, and until Aguilar address it, I'm gonna give it a miss.

After reading the blinding reviews on BGRA I was gonna buy one of these. Alex at the Gallery has one on order, and its mine if I want it. Not sure now!!! What am I gonna buy instead?!!! Cheers Ian

The Omni sounds interesting. The pic on his web site shows the cab with what looks like a vertical row of piezo tweeters. Is that what he recommends in his design?

My first amp was an HH Bass Machine 250w head. It was pretty well spec'd for its time, with a graphic eq, two channel & phaser. Pretty bulky though.
-
Bongos.... Very thin paint on rear of neck and headstock. I found the body a bit uncomfortable after a time. Probably coz it's too big. The 4-band eq gives lots of variations to the already hugely coloured sound, and I could still never find the sound I wanted. It just didn't sound 'natural'. Great body finish. Mine was orange. Kept it for two months - it was that good! At the end of the day its all down to personal preference.

Now here's something that's sorely needed by many players....
Truly excellent idea. They should give one away with every new bass. Oops they do, just not quite in the right place...
That's hilarious! Never seen that before! Good name, Chop Cheers Chopthebass -
i really hope this thing is amazing:P
The words 'behringer' and 'amazing' don't go together, so I'd give up hoping! I was curious, so I had a look at the manual online. The watts are classed as 'peak output'. So it's really quite a small amp in a big box. Saying that, I would love to try one in a gig situation, and see how long it takes to ignite! I'm sure you could spend your £344 on something much more reliable.

Hi Dave, The Xtreme 10.1 has a solid state and a tube in the pre-amp, and you can select one or the other or a blend of the two. A bit like the Hartke, from what I remember. Good luck Ian

WoodandTronics now have a dedicated web-site WTbasses for there own guitars. They've got some funky ideas, like the front control cover cut from exotic timber, magnets holding the rear control cover on, etc. Also they offer interesting tried and tested pickup/circuit combination. Enrico is loaning me a 33" 5-string for me to review, so I'll be posting a detailed assessment in a few months time. Thats's gonna feel odd after my 36" Progress Bass! Cheers

Thanks Dave. I'll let you know my thoughts when I get it. I see they no longer do the 310212. That was bit of a monster! Mikey, I think I saw a thread or comment somewhere saying that the single mini-12 cabs weren't that good. But from what I've read above, the 1210 and 1212 are both outstanding.
-
I'm in negotiation with Jorg at the moment for a 210212L cab. He's complicated things by giving me a tweeter option! Titanium or selenium. I'm hoping he can explain the differences without getting too technical. I was hoping to get the 412L to give more balls, but from what I've read here, this cab should perform fine with the lows. So it looks like my Epifani UL410 will be up for sale.
-
Thanks Dave. Are you saying that Jorg is flexible on the prices he quotes on his web-site? I hope so, because shipping costs for the 210212L or 412L is $385! I've only ever bought parts from W&T and on both occassion I have had no problems at all. It can take a while getting a response to emails at times though.Cheers Ian
