I always wanted to be a train driver when I was a child, on a NS ICM train (until recently commonly known as the "Koploper") specifically. They were called Koploper (headwalker?) because the trains could be coupled together, and the doors in the front and rear of the connecting trains could be opened so you could literally walk from train to train. This feature was removed from 2005 to reduce weight and costs. I always found them fascinating as a child

Ibanez ATK "back when they were made in Japan", and many other old Japanese Ibanez guitars and basses for that matter. If you start comparing prices of old Ibanez instruments with current new Made in Japan Prestige models, many old ones are an absolute steal but won't stay that way. Sorry to hear about your bad experience with Status. I bought my S2 Classics used, and have been very impressed with both. My 4-string has a faulty jack that doesn't reliably switch on the preamp when plugged in, but otherwise I've had no issues with them whatsoever and the finish and attention to detail on both of mine seems of very high quality. I haven't had to deal with the company yet other than to order strings in their webshop. Based off the other replies in this thread I'm assuming you must have caught an exception. That's definitely not the experience you'd hope to have when going through a custom shop process.

Wasn't that covered by any warranty at that point, or did you buy it used?

But here's the funny thing: the BB1100s has an active 3-band, but also a passive 250k tone pot So in passive mode, the only thing that sets it apart from for example the BB1600 mentioned in the first post is the 1600 has two volumes whereas the 1100s has a 3-way switch and one master volume.

I bought my ukulele there last summer. All was fine. Realistic ETA, better pricing (the same Kala KA-STG uke I got for 188 Euros at G4M would have cost me 245 Euros at Thomann!) and while their main storage and shipping facility is in Germany, I was surprised to find they appear to have a stock here in the Netherlands as well which means some items can be shipped to me more quickly.

That's an absolute stunner! The Paramatrix EQ wouldn't be for me (I prefer much simpler controls: my ideal Status would have the regular Board 303 preamp but with the filter frequency knob moved to the control cavity as a trim pot (set and forget) and the 3-way boost/cut switch replaced by a boost/cut pot). I mostly leave the EQ on my S2 Classics untouched.

Very cool For me the Cardinal bass was immortalized by the lead singer and bass player of Dutch ska/reggae band Doe Maar.

Looks great, especially at that price! I bought a TGI ukulele hardcase last summer, really happy with it. Great value, well-made and decent protection.

I've never been a fan of these "reverse burst" finishes. Fender did this before in the mid 90s, with Midnight Blue Reverse Burst and Black Pearl Burst. I do agree it looks better with a maple board: https://reverb.com/au/item/3749156-fender-jazz-bass-plus-deluxe-1992-blue

Looks pretty cool and well thought out! Does the bridge require using that little tool to tune it, or can you just tune it by turning the knobs by hand too? Love this picture BTW

Thomann is stocking them again, and the Polytune Clip is also back in stock in both black and white. I just received my second Unitune.

This site estimates there must be 103 This aged pelham blue almost looks like inverness green! Also a great classic Gibson colour.

I agree there would be a lot more choice when you include the MC824 and MC924 in your search The Musician range has seen many changes in shape (round edges, bevelled edges), neck dimensions (models up to 1983 had HUGE necks, 1983 and onward are a lot sleeker and narrower), pickup configuration and electronics. All are well-made and were at the top of their league together with the Yamaha BB series and Aria Pro II SB series in my opinion.

I pulled the trigger today. I was hoping for a nice black friday deal, but couldn't find any so in the end I just turned to Thomann. Really looking forward to it!

I have owned a Torino Bass for a while. Really cool, but heavy and the positioning of the strap buttons combined with the arched back made it want to topple forward at all times when playing it standing up. I did gig it on several occasions and loved the HUGE tone I got out of it.

Looks really cool! I've been impressed with everything I've seen from Alpher on this forum so far. Not a fan of the relic finish, I have learned to embrace them on some Fender-style instruments but have some trouble with them on such modern instruments that haven't been around long enough to have reached that condition from heavy use. It does suit this version though, with some of the more old-school features.

You could try raising the pole pieces first, that might beefen things up already.

Nice! I really liked that on the OLP's I tried too. Very useful control layout, and much more tonal variety than you'd expect from two coils to close together.
