7.
Can I just make a straight remark here (and I'm not looking for a fight)? If this was a guitarist we'd all be saying it was a load of fretw*nk. I'm sorry, but that sort of playing is just drivel and it doesn't have any place in a musical sense. OK so the guy can do a lot of fancy tricks. Duh. And no, I can't 'play' like that, nor do I have any inclination to learn and do so either. If I actually had to listen to a musical track with that going on in the background I think I'd upchuck. P
People always go on about this, but the fact is that he is not playing with a band! If he was then I'm sure he wouldn't be playing this. Someone has just popped out a camera and probably said can I record some chops so he's just showing off. It's all about context.
8. Great Mother of Pearl

10. I'd get one of these personally http://www.focusrite.com/product/saffire/
11. I'd still get a SR5 over that
12. Assuming your using a PC and not a Mac... The thing about Pro Tools is that it's not compatable with many external sound cards. M-Audio firewire interfaces do not work with normal protools but you have to use something called Pro Tools M-Powered which is considered not as good. If I were you I'd be looking at the Presonus and Focusrite (Saffire) firewire soundcards and use them with cubase - very good stuff. But these aren't compatable with pro tools either.

16.
Jamerson never used one. Most of his motown stuff was straight into the desk though.
I thought he used an Ampeg B15n for a lot too?
17. When guitarists are predominately using frequencies higher than we are, why do nearly all the bass cabs have tweeters/horns and guitarists have none in sight? I know a lot is down to personal taste and I turn mine nearly all the way off. Opinions?
18. Let's see if Dood can resist this price...
19. £1000 - £1200 I think You have to be a brave man to spend 1k+ on a bass you havn't played or have a clue what it plays like IMHO of course!
