1.
I have bought myself custom shop relic jass, so i really would like to sell my Valenti ,£800 for an absolutly terrific bass ,would travel to meet for fuel money
How does this compare to the custom shop?
2. Sorry I don't know anything about it, but at 122lbs you better have a strong back (or a roadie(s))

Must haves

Tuner, that's it! Going out there and looking for effects for the sake of effects is a dangerous and expensive world. Just play, and if you find yourself in a situation where you think yeah a drive (or whatever) would work really well here etc. then go for it - but buying a pedal then looking for a place to use it seems backwards to me. IMHO of course
4. If you want to go up-market, how about the Sadowsky metro PJ?
5.
I'm after that big black thick R'n'B bass sound, like you hear on Jill Scott's 826 live album (i think the dude used a P bass lyte for that, so i heard once), or like Pino on D'angelo's Voodoo
Hey you said it there twice, P-bass! Play a P live and keep the F for the studio?
6. Sweet, I like the look of these.
7. Warm and articulate
8. These amps are amazing, I duno why there's such a lack of popularity in Eden atm. Not the flavour of the month I suppose!
9.
Hmmm, I dont know what the electrical circuits are like in bars/venues/rehearsal rooms over where you live, but out here the current isnt stable at all, and the reason I have the markbass in a rack is because I HAVE to have my QuikLok Voltage Regulator. You wouldnt believe the difference, no funny interference noises, no electrical spikes, etc. I decided to protect my investment. (but yeah, that adds about 7kg to my rack...)
Ah I see your in Portugal. I've never had any problems with just using my amp and must have played at about 50+ places
10.
Ok I got here late - shame the answer is out so soon . I actually would have got it right as well...
Sorry people kept PMing me so I thought I'd put it up here to save replying the same thing to loads of people, it seemed like a good idea at the time. I've changed it so that you now have to highlight the text to read it if you don't want to know the answer.
11. Answer - Please highlight the area under to find the answer Track 1 - '20 Questions' was played with the 1965 Jazz bass with flats through a 60's Ampeg B-15n. Track 2 - 'Alright' was played on the MIA Jazz Deluxe with rounds into a Line 6 Bass POD direct to ProTools.
12. There's a demeter compulator on ebay for £100 the last time I looked
13. Interesting to have the mixed responses. I'll let it run for a few more days then post the answer. If you're really desperate to know them give me a PM
14. I found this on another forum and thought I'd post it here. " On one track I played on John Entwistle's 1965 Jazz bass strung with flats through a 60's B-15n to a Neve board. There was also a bit of a Countryman DI mixed in through the Neve. The other track was played on an active 2000 American Jazz Deluxe with rounds into a Bass Pod, direct to ProTools. Can you pick which is which?" 1) http://thedpband.com/music/05%2020%20Questions.mp3 2) http://thedpband.com/music/06%20Alright.mp3 I'd like to know, A - Which sound you prefer, B - Which do you think is the Vintage Jazz and which is the new Fender active one If you've seen the original thread then don't spoil it for those who havn't. 15. Check out Focusrite, they make some good stuff like the Saffire which also comes with Cubase LE
16. I gues it sounds like this... http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=ZGi1SPG5Hek
17. If I were you, I'd get rid of the rack and put the markbass in a small carry bag. The cab is going to be the same weight or lighter than a decent size combo anyway.
18.
This has been described as a 'magic box' and I'd agree with that. Can really fill out your sound if your bass is lacking mids (works great with my Fleabass).
Huh sorry but this box does the opposite, it can only take away mids!
19. WOW!

I thought it would be a cool idea to have a thread where people post youtube videos, not of themselves, but to give people inspiration or just they think they're interesting.
