1.
Sure, that's a wise move if you have limited space. Still, I'll echo Buzz's comment. Unless you're getting a bargain price for hosting, 40GB is actually quite little space.
It's actually 60GB but 40GB is uploads. It's $10 per 5GB per month above standard, not great value and we're not looking at moving hosts for disk space alone. I think introducing a mentality of not uploading multiple 5MB images is the first step and if that's still not enough then we can upgrade.
2. I've now dropped maximum upload space per user from 100MB to 75MB and no more than 20MB of attachments per post. Just found one post with 10 x 5-6MB images, no need !
3. Looks like a cracking bass, alas I had a Corvette $$ 5 not too long ago and I disliked the neck profile and lack of front position markers. If I hadn't had one before I think i'd go for it.
4. I've only had one nibble ! Quite disappointed .
5. Don't need this twice .
6.
Absolutely not. If someone is prepared to pay that sort of price for a damaged instrument when a new one is little more, more fool them. I just found it funny that when asked if it indeed was the London Show Bass, it vanished from the For Sale section to appear on e-Bay for nearly £50 more. No doubt some mug will buy it. Just wondering what would happen if you offered the price it went for at the show.
The seller pulled it, I didn't ask him to. I think his conscience got to him, until he put it on eBay anyway...
7. Yeah but really, how many basses have you had in the years and how many wives in comparison ? .
8. It is the one from the show. The seller (different username to eBay) had it on here first until I queried it with him then he pulled it a he didn't want members here to think he was after a quick buck !
There's one for sale on EBay already : http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...3#ht_500wt_1079 Looks like the blue one in the pics above?
9. Feel free to upload small versions of the files, super hi-res pics aren't really required but average sized ones (e.g. 800x600) should be fine and not use much space at all . We have now cleared 1900 files and 1.9GB of space, that's enough for now I think. For anything else i'll try and isolate old files over a certain size with very few views and clear these off, thanks for the assistance.
10. I am looking to trade this wonderful example of Chris May's work from October 2002. It's a 36" scale which may sound intimidating, but it doesn't feel as long as it is and I have no issues reaching the 1st fret. The body is made of American walnut and has a thick burr maple top which is highly figured. The neck is a 5 piece maple/purple heart neck through construction and also has a body-matching headstock veneer. The electronics consist of MM/J pickups (custom order), a 3 band EQ and coil tap (custom order) on the volume pot. This leads to plenty of sound options. The bass has a very bright and clean sound - it is the perfect palette from which to build your own sound out of. The coil tap adds another dimension to the sound that is very useful. It is currently setup with a low action yet does not buzz anywhere on the neck, the high string tension helping here. It's an absolute breeze to play and oozes quality from every part. The sustain from this instrument is also impressive across all strings. It is in very good condition with only very minor buckle rash on the neck heel (wouldn't show on pics) and a few small dings on the body and neck. They tend to become invisible in the burr maple anyway.. The reason I am looking to trade this is I want a more aggressive sound. I find the virtues of this instrument aren't suited to what i'm looking for (i'm after the Musicman sound). Basses i'd consider are 5 strings such as a Stingray HH/HS, Bongo HH/HS. I'm not really after a high end custom bass to replace this with . Things i'm not really interested in are Warwicks, Fenders, Laklands. For anyone looking not to trade, I would sell this for £1200 inc postage or pickup from Birmingham. See below for pics.. 11. Wow, it can only be guitarists willing to pay these prices.. right ?!
12. I saw it as an opportunity to see everything in one place, chat with other players and see what was new. It was certainly not the place to get an idea if you want to buy something expensive. I tried a few things out (Overwaters, Orange amps, new Yamaha BBs, a Ray34) but not loads. I think in hindsight I wish i'd tried out one of the Foderas on Bass Gear stand simply because it was a rare opportunity to do so. But, if anything, the show made me more content with the gear I already have. Doesn't stop me wanting more though I suppose ! That blue Bongo 6 HH...mmm.
13. BGM subscription (with the free t-shirt/Hercules wall stand/Rotosound strings), and also a Rotosound clip-on tuner (which I thought was a bargain at £5), but it doesn't work ! Have emailed them in disappointment.
14. Out of that list i'd go with the Lakland but more importantly, what kind of sound are you after ?
15. Yeah, I think that was sold in the morning ! Bargain..
16.
Yes I had a look at the Contemprary J in blue yesterday at the Bass Show - it's a beauty!......didn't have chance to play it unfortunately (wouldn't have heard myself anyway!). Very tempted to invest in one but would like to test it out in a 'quieter' environment Angie
Oh you mean this one ? I was very impressed with it. Image featuring niceguyhomer and MythSte .
17. For those who missed Mark King yesterday... http://www.level42.com/2011/03/13/mark-kin...show-2011-live/
18. You're right, I can see the most viewed attachments but it doesn't give me dates.
19.
Thanks for posting. What's the white bass with the three pickups in the background of the first photo?
Ibanez JTKB. See here: Ibanez website
20. Yes, however some of those could be in long term 'image porn' threads or not be so large as to be contributing to the issue. Alas it is not possible to filter out old images that have not been accessed for x amount of time.
21. Machines

SOLD

Wow, you didn't give him much time !
22. Thanks chaps. 1.2GB cleared in total and 1300 files.
23. I missed TM Stevens (time flew past) but saw the Mark King ensemble, whilst his playing left me indifferent - i'm glad I saw him. He seemed fairly modest and seemed quite genuine in his responses to questions.
24.
Thanks for the taps on the shoulders from the two BC'ers that recognised my mug!
I take it that's not you in the avatar then !
