Thread resurrection ! Haven't touched this for nearly a year and it's about time I got it finished. Alas I resprayed a couple of months ago in a fantastic gun metal grey metallic, only for the paint to craze on me a whole 4 weeks after putting a clear gloss top coat on (no pics i'm afraid). A complete resand later (that stuff is TOUGH) and back to the bare wood. I've since decided to go for a solid colour and have primed it back up - but I actually think it looks pretty damned good in pure white.. what do we think ?

We often get messages asking us to delete a post because it's sold - hmmm nope. We can't stop people editing their posts but there's just no need to remove them. It's good to be able to look through a sellers history or similar items to get a feel for what to expect and compare prices.

You are correct, pickups are passive and preamp is active. Any passive pickups should do you fine..

Do most combos actually detail what the wattage is into the combo alone ? To be fair, a lot of manufacturers don't tell you what the wattage for a stand alone head into one cab so the fault isn't really with the seller.

Honestly it is worth the visit. You won't see anywhere else in the UK such a concentration of top end gear and awesome players. You will quite likely see a lot of us lot too ! That's worth the entry fee alone .

I've played a fair few in Birmingham PMT, always been very impressed with the craftsmanship and tone - I'd take one over a MIA Fender any day. They do seem to suffer the same depreciation as Warwick however..

He must have either been optimistic or hallucinating. I've never had anything 'insulting' offered value wise, just not some things I would never want. What bass did you value at £200 ? Unless of course revealing this would reveal the identity of the offerer . But i've also had the opposite happen, I had a 1980 Ibanez Musician MC900 (bought for £250) which was in reasonable condition. I was offered a straight swap for a 1996 Stingray (worth £750) about 4 weeks later, without me even saying it was for sale to start with ! Needless to say I snapped his hand off, have since traded several times for equal value.

I think it should be possible to get close. Neck pickup soloed and played high up is the best way to go for it.

If something does go wrong, we can act as mediators if required, however make no guarantees for any situation to be resolved to the satisfaction of the complainent .
