1. Those Vintages have been out a few years, Fender aren't really like other big names with their rights protection and don't seem to see it as much of a threat. I've played a couple and was fairly underwhelmed.
2. I've done plenty of trades on the forum, but always face to face. If this isn't feasible i'd suggest you check the reputation of the seller through tracking their post history, have they sold to people before etc ? Has anyone created a thread about them in the Feedback forum ? If not, you really have to ask yourself if you trust this person based on your dealings with them so far, alas if you have reservations - it's best to let it go. If you do encounter problems however, we as moderators can attempt to mediate on any dispute, but cannot guarantee we will provide a result as we do not take any responsibility for transactions made by people on the forum. .
3. Ergh, they've overegged the pudding for sure.
4. I had a 5 string for a year or so, it was great but in the end I wanted something else. Definitely top quality and lots of tones to be had from it though.
5. Ibanez should reissue them - i'd be after one if they did.
6. Yes, otherwise there's nothing to stop someone with a vendetta against someone discrediting anything they put up for sale and claiming it's for the community's good. This does not apply however to any equipment suspected as misrepresented or fraudulent in which case we would request the post is reported to a moderator.
7. Please keep pricing comments to PM (even if they are intended as helpful), it is the sellers prerogative to choose the price at wish to sell, supply and demand will determine if an item sells it or not, thanks .
8. Yeah they're good for some cheapo bits, met the owner at Music Live and he was more than willing to chat for a bit. Not sure what they necks would be like - but you have The Distance Selling Act on your side.
9. Here's a review I did last year http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=39226
10. All of my bass face pics include a Stingray also, there is a worrying trend here.
11. I started on guitar aged 18, got a bass a few months later (Squier Bronco) just because I liked the sound of it, still got that same guitar but have been through a lot of basses in the time since ! I've not really improved on guitar in the last 4 years but have significantly on bass.
12. Had my Venus 5 a few months now and the new bass nostalgia still hasn't worn off like it did with others.. it really is a cracking piece of kit. Would post some pics but i'm at work .
13. I love Slipknot too so this is definitely sad to hear, saw them at Reading and they put on a hell of a show.
14. I've not been down since he moved from the farm yard, need to take a day off work I think !
15. Have a bump on me.. since this is my old bass .
16. Drop me a PM with what's needed, I should be able to convert that into something more techy that might help isolate our requirements to people as it is a little vague currently.
17. CK - it might be worth identifying if it would be expected for the additional functions to integrate with the existing forum software ? A shop front as far as I can see wouldn't need to ? If it were required then someone with experience of PHP would be suitable.
18. So they'll only let you join if you have a natural finish ?!
19. Seth Horan uses one for very non-metal music and I don't think it looks out of place, nice bass.
20. Problem is you didn't buy a Jazz - it's a copy ! They might have a bunch of generic Fender styled necks they put on basses irrelevant of their body style, could have ended up on a Precision etc..
21. I've spent a good couple of hours getting to know it today, I am astounded by it still - there really isn't anything more I could ask of it. I've played a lot of expensive Fender styled basses (Nordstrand, Shuker etc) and this is an easy match in terms of build quality and tone. Please tell Jazz no refunds or exchanges are accepted without a receipt .
22.
I almost bought that bass from detune jazz a while ago. It's a lovely instrument, especially with the decorative binding around the edge of the body. I only decided against it due to the slab body edges. Lovely instrument! Nice score
The back is still contoured so it doesn't cause me a problem. The clear pickguard really sets it off and it wouldn't look anywhere near as classy with white/black etc.
23. Swapped my Corvette $$ 5 for this with detune_jazz (thanks again !). I initially wanted a Fender Miller Jazz but to be honest, this is superior in every way possible. I'm waiting for full details about it from Bacchus, but it's obviously a Swamp Ash body / Brazilian rosewood neck with body and neck binding. It does absolutely every sound I want it to. The EQ is very powerful and only needs a little tweak either way full good effect. It plays terribly easily and after coming from a Warwick neck is a breeze to get around.
24. And traded for detune_jazz's Bacchus 5
25. I think you might have inverted the images somehow - they're the wrong way round !
